If we don't know what God looks like or neither can we imagine seeing God truly then how can we

understand the scriptures that tell us that man was made in God's image?

2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

So, from this small snippet we can see a bit of the image of the Father we can show the world.

Gal 5:24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Joh 16:25 "I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father.

Joh 16:26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf;

Joh 16:28 I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father."

And, in the future we will find out much more about the Father!!

"Image" in this case tends to mean 'nature" or "character".

That's right and in that character we are three in one just as God is three in one. We are body, mind, and soul, and God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We are indeed created in His image just as He has said.
