In the Bible a woman may be a deaconess. However, he authority must rest in that of a male servant over her. Such as an elder, for example.

GMAN, would you provide a reference for that? Thanks. :o

Okay, let's begin.

First, you asked for scriptural references of women who were placed in a place of authority... I will give three, there are probably more, but I am at work and so I have limited resources and time. Sorry!

I have been away and see that you have been alone. I have to say that I am surprised GodMan at your posts. I find the questions very leading and somewhat condescending.

Sorry, can't let that one alone. GMan was extremely polite and not at all condescending. He only asked a question - several times, which still hasn't been answered. And when it could not be answered, the poster said they were "outta here". He was exposing contradiction that could not be backed up and I don't think he should be criticized or falsely accused for it. JMO.

I am not adding to scripture...period!

WOW!!!!

That was the best teaching I've had in a long time, SJ. Thanks!

No problem. Thank you for the compliment. It's part of what God has called me to, and honestly, without His guidance and help there's no way I could have learned any of that.

Don't worry - God probably often asks the same thing.

Yeah, only His Word is a bit more important than mine :o

NO WORK IN PROGRESS you are WRONG....I said I was out of here for the simple fact that I was not lead to continue in this discussion...How dare you or anyone else question me in my stance which with the Lord...I do not have to answer you nor anyone that I do not feel led to answer...ALL MOST OF YOU HERE WANT TO DO IS QUESTION GOD"S CALLING ON WOMEN...I WILL NOT EVER QUESION GOD....When we ALL stand before the Lord on judgement day then you will have ALL the answers you need....I have posted the point of view ... I have not come agaisnt any of you for your beliefs, although, I believe it is not right..I have chosen to take the high road because I refuse to talk to people in the manner you all do...

Shelby thank you for your support...

I lean not on my own understanding...Bebating over what the Lord has called his people to do in HIS SERVICE is not what I am about...It seems that most here, as I have seen over and over tend to argue, fight , insult and come against peopl with different views in ways that do not sit well with my spirit...Insulting and being so mean with your words is not what my God is ALL about..My God is about love, unity, understanding, compassion, and humilty.

A dear person that I highly respect here on this board sent this to me....

Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying. For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: And lest, (when I come again), my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

2 Corinthians 12:19-21

On many accounts I have thought of leaving this board due to the things above, but I keep getting drawn back here for whatever reason...I try to show who I am in the Lord by my post...I have made some very good friends here and yes we do not always agree on thing, but one thing is you can sure tell where they arein the Lord when push comes to shove and we can enter into a conversation with love and respect for each other....

John 3:8 - The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit

With all of this being said..God Bless you all and I pray that when we speak to each other that we do not FORGET who we represent.

One more thing..God man....I respect you and your position and I always have..However, we do not agree on yet another sugject...LOL...With respect and Love Kelli

All you want to do is argue..thats it Super Jew and I refuse to argue it...Period..Just looking for an arguement..Last time I will reply to ...You hear nothing I have said ..NOTHING!..ONE WAY MIND TONIGHT....I will not do this ..I should have refrained from posting here because I already knew what this was all about....I have stated where I stand and that is it...Now give me the respect I deserve and let it be.

Whoa. You are certainly entitled to your opinion that I am wrong, but your anger is misdirected.

If you enter into a discussion on a controversial forum, don't get mad when someone discusses with you and points out your contradictions. If you "don't want to be questioned", then don't enter the discussion. Seems reasonable to me.

What "manner" has anyone spoken to you in? All I see is GMan asking you a question:

"But I do not permit a woman to teach or to assert authority over a man, but to be in quietness" (1 Tim. 2:12)

How do you reconcile just this one verse with the 5 examples you used? Either this verses is not right - it contradicts the examples you gave (And therefore, the Bible is not the inerrant word of God) - or the examples you gave are flawed. You simply cannot have it both ways. Just something to consider.

because you chose to enter into the discussion. I see nothing rude or insulting going on. Peace. :o

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
