As part of her duties, Sampson, who is Jewish, had to take over leading a women's Bible study for the absent Gayle Haggard. Not only is the whole premise bad, but this snippet is bad. An unbeliever leading a bible study in a church setting? Thats just wrong. The actor identifies as Christian but also is open to a variety of spiritual influences. He believes he and Sampson have been together in 31 previous lives. When Busey invites an American Indian to do a ceremony at his him, the man, identified only as "Robert" or "Bob," invites Haggard to be cleansed. Uncomfortable with the idea, she asks to simply observe instead of participate. Again, speaks poorly of "Chrisitan" values. At least Mrs Haggard refused to participate in that ritual. Maybe the unbelievers view of it will be. True followers of Christ knows the truth and can see through all this junk. I'm with you about an unbeliever leading a bible study. It been better if she was just participating. Especially since she is Jewish, it been awesome to read all the Old Testament prophesies about Christ. L.J. Sick and sad.

And I don't mean because of his sin being brought to light - the sin came out of his brokenness. I saw the evidence of that in the relationship he had with his family. If the Lord uses the wife-swap as a means of initiating some healing, there is reason to rejoice. As for Busey, Christendom in Hollywood is screwed up and dysfunctional. I have a friend who reported on that a few years ago. It's like reading the two churches in Revelation 2-3 who have compromised with the values of the world. Their spiritual status is sick (as in ill), and they need tons of prayer to be delivered.

I was attending a church in Dallas led by pastor Robert Mwari for a while. He is the one who led Gary Busey to faith during that time and Mr Busey came to speak at the church shortly thereafter. I always like his role as Buddy Holly, btw. Even though this was after his famous cocaine bouts but before the motorcycle accident, (I think) and he still didn't seem "all there". Afterwards, I'd see him on TV as "christian" and really felt sorry for him being thrust into that limelight....like Dione Sanders had been...way too early. They tried to do that with Bob Dylan and it turned him into more of recluse. Now he doesn't talk as much about faith in public (except at concerts). Alice Cooper was smart enough not to say anything for a decade so it didn't happen to him. But christianity itself is to blame if we start exalting new believers to access their fame. It's not fair or right for anyone to have that kind of pressure. Neither of these people (Busey or Ted Haggard) represent faithful christians but they do represent the cultural christianity we have in America pretty well. Okay, there is one show I like to watch once in awhile and that is "Swamp People" those people are nuts.
