Hi all,

I set up a Christian forum of my own a few months back (Light of the World for those of you that are interested) and a topic on the end-days has just come up. I didn't have much of a Christian upbringing and I've only known God's love for just over 9 months now so I there are still a lot of things I haven't even considered yet. I haven't studied Revelation at all yet, I'm working on a read your bible in a year scheme and I'm up to Isaiah and Ephesians at the mo. I wondered if someone could just give me a brief summary of what Revelation actually says to us. I keep hearing little snippets about the second coming but I'm getting quite confused at the mo.

I'd really appreciate it if you could help out.

Thanks

Clare

Greetings Clare,

Welcome to Worthy. Please DO NOT look to men for your answers to Eschatology. All you will find is confusion and someone will attempt to "win you over to THEIR point of view". I have been studying eschatology since 1975, and only in the last 8-10 years have I begun to develop -some- understanding of it. If you wish TRUE understanding of it, you will FIRST get to know the rest of the Bible and in particular develop a close relationship with Jesus before you delive into the "mysteries" of the future events.

There is plenty to read here on Worthy, that might help you a little bit, but let the Lord teach you and NOT man.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Thank you Dad Ernie,

I think that's possibly the best advice you could give. I know in my heart that the Lord himself is the only one who can guide me and I know that will take time but it's an enjoyable exciting learning curve so I'm not complaining!

Thanks for the welcome (not sure how much I'll be about as I have my own board to maintain but I like the look of this place)

I second that. Please read and think about <John 14:1-16:33>.

Please take dead seriously <1Thessalonians 5:19-21>

Agape/love:...NOTHING "...shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."<Romans 8:38-39>

Note that Agape/love is defined at <1Corinthians 13:4-8>

Amen!

Dad's advice is really rather bad. The Lord has given us teachers, and not all have that gift. I do agree, though, that you have to make yourself familiar with the Bible in general as a first priority though.

I agree with you on that one. Of all the subjects I study, I just can't become interested in Eschatology, thus it helps for me to have teachers explain it to me.

To be honest, I don't know of any great authors. The best thing you could do is go to an apologetic website or google and type in Eschatology and see what you get.

We need to hear the studing from theologians........

There is one who studies in the Book of Revalation and speaks of the end times.

He is excellent on this .....his name is Hilton Sutton, and has his own ministry.

He also has a T.V. program and speaks about the Book of Revelation.

LOVE and PEACE to everyone,

Greetings Tim,

Dad's advice is really rather bad. The Lord has given us teachers, and not all have that gift. I do agree, though, that you have to make yourself familiar with the Bible in general as a first priority though.

I gather you DO NOT believe in the following:

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

I think that this is part of your problem Tim, you have bought into men's FABLES rather than listening to the Holy Spirit. Remember His thoughts are GREATER than your thoughts.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

I agree with both Dad Ernie and Tim:The Holy Spirit will teach you ALL things. Including Loving Jesus Christ's Church teachers. Remeber Jesus Christ loved The Church and gave Himself for it:

Apostles-prophets-evangelist-pastors-teachers:<Ephesians 4:11->

The Holy Spirit has taught me in many ways. He is God. Led me to many teachers.

Agape.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
