Guest shiloh357
help those who cant help themselves. i agree. sadly america and the west have forgotten that. What need to do is minister to the poor with the idea of sustainability. There may be a need for immediate aid, but we need to get people off of their feet and working and being able to sustain themselves and meet their own challenges without need of outside aid. We need to get people away from the entitlement mentality that pervades our communities.
Guest yod
"Social justice" is a term that intends to play on the envy (emotions) of people. It assumes that life should be fair for everyone and that is a moral judgment of whoever happens to be in charge today. It will always fail because it depends on man being "fair" to other men. That is a rare man indeed. We simply can never guarantee equal results for everyone unless we're talking about misery. The best we can do is guarantee equal opportunity to succeed and some will, while others will always be trying to get by with as little effort as possible. There should be (and is) a mechanism for helping those who genuinely can't help themselves...and there should be (and is) specialized programs to address specific situations for people who genuinely need help to access greater opportunity like education, health care, public transportation, etc... But there will always be some part of a population that will simply not even try, yet demand to be taken care of. Doing so is NOT social justice because the majority are then being discriminated against, and the failure of those they're supposedly helping is then guaranteed. What we need is a revolutionary revival of the truth. People need to stop being offended when the truth is told to them. Ha, fat chance in America today. . Guest yod
Define truth. Void of deception; fact The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is what is missing when the issue is social justice. The truth is that life "should" be fair. When it is not, some people want to take advantage of that situation because fairness isn't what they care about, it's power. In almost every historical revolution that started with "social justice", it ended with totalitarian dictatorships instead. So in every place where you see the words "social justice" you should read collectivism (communism, socialism, etc) because this how they start every time. They appeal to the envy of those who want "social justice" by making promises they have no intention of keeping. Once they can convince them that they are "victims" of (whoever they need out of the way or makes the most convenient scapegoat), then they can turn that envy into hatred pretty easily. Once they've got real hatred stirred up, then they can manipulate and direct this base emotion in individuals like watering a seed, turning those extremely offended people into perpetrators for their plan. Almost every totalitarian dictatorship in history began this way. There is a detectable pattern and it's visible to all who know it, but invisible to those who have no love of the truth. God has given them over to believe strong delusion. .

Currently, the social justice viewpoint is that white people (specifically the usa) are the "oppressors" who need to give over their "unfair" wealth to everyone else. This is part of black liberation theology that is being preached by jeremiah wright and his ilk. The pastor that obama sat under for 20 years and whom he calls a mentor and spiritual advisor. I read the book that defines black liberation theology by jimmy cone. He states it quite clearly.

By that definition theres nothing socialistic about it-its standing up for whats right without reserve, without compromise.
