It's short and sweet really. If Christians are to stay away from Lord of the Rings, and those who practice real witchcraft, then so be it. In that case, we cannot take part in giving, using, taking, or recieving any money. Money is a tool that is used for evil. I know some who have their money from drug dealing. Now, if they then paid me for something with that money, am I not accepting "evil" money?

Now, we all know money is circulated, so the dollar bill you use to buy a WWJD sticker, could have been a dollar out of many that was used to buy a porno tape. In other words, if Christians cannot see something they do not believe or practice, then they certainly shouldn't use something that has been used for something they do not believe or practice.

Good point. Paul wrote that regardless of the way the gospel is preached, he rejoiced that it was preached. Therefore, whether a gospel tract or the LOR movie, both can be profitable to bring unbelievers to Christ.

If anything, condemning LOR like this makes it harder to bring people to Christ, than simply acknowledging that although there may be parallels to evil, there are also parallels to the gospel. Christians need to learn how to use these kinds of things for the benefit of the Lord's kindgom rather than helping boster the wide opinion that we are a bunch of intolerant starch-collared bigots.

At least Marvel's better than Dark Horse. Dark Horse has the word "dark" in it...which is then associated with evil. And all evil is bad. Therefore, Dark Horse Comics is bad.
