The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the centerpiece of President Barack Obama's signature healthcare overhaul law requiring that most Americans get insurance by 2014 or pay a financial penalty, a historic ruling that gave the White House a big win ahead of Obama's re-election bid in November.

Really? From what I understood from it, only part of it was going to come from taxes and reductions in the budget (about $500 billion). The rest will come from defecit spending I thought (I think the number for this is $1.2 trillion). Maybe I am wrong.

I have a sincere business question for you.

Due to the tanning tax, have you had to raise the price for those using your tanning beds. If so, has it cost you business?

Just curious as a retired business woman. :)

I tried very very hard NOT to raise my prices. My prices were just right where I could pay for expenses and upkeep for my beds, at the end of my quaterly taxes I made a decent profit on my beds. (now decent to some is probably small change to others) I had alot of customers so, best way to say this, quantity made up for the rest.

After I had to raise my prices because I just couldn't afford upkeep etc...after the 10 percent tax implemented on me, I did lose about 25 percent maybe a little more of my customer base. Now I'm in the position that even with the 10 percent added on every tan I'm still not making enough to pay the income tax and tan tax , maintenence on my beds.

Its tough, tired as a small business owner being told (by government) we are on your side etc.... Then next thing you know they are breaking you.

Did that make sense?

If we did not pass the proposed 2013-2021 reinstatement of the Bush Era tax cuts for the top 5% we could raise $2.02 trillion to deal with that 1.2 trillion left over... and we could start paying off our interest and the debt itself... just a thought...
