Really Confused....not trying to be

That being said, this is an HONEST question and all I want is answers.

Mr. Kerry spent about 4 months in Vietnam. My Daddy spend over a year.

Mr. Kerry took a few minor cuts and got awarded 3 purple hearts and some kind of medal of honor (sorry, I don't recall the name of the medal).

My Daddy's base was under fire. He took some bruises and cuts and never got a purple heart. Not ONE. He stayed at his post to help planes land safely. They were UNDER FIRE and all the men LEFT in fear of their lives.

My father stayed at his post, despite being under fire. He never left his post.

My father, despite his injuries and bravery, when EVERYONE else left their post, he stayed and took a risk with his life. He was under enemy fire.

My father NEVER got a single purple heart or metal of honor.

I'm confused. I'm so confused. My father was a REAL hero. He never had film footage shot on him? Why? He never got press? Why? He never got attention by the media? Why?

Why did my Daddy almost lose his life, risk it for his fellow man and never even ask for a purple heart or an award when all the men RAN AWAY....but Kerry got 3 Purple Hearts, an award of honor and TONS of film footage my Dad never got.

I'm so, so confused.

Why was there a film crew following Kerry everywhere he went? He was there 4 months and ended up with 3 purple hearts and a metal of honor? HUH?

seems to be the way of the world.....its not what you do....its who you know.

Who you have connections with and so forth. But thats just my opinion.

Its sad though that your dad didn't get some sort of recognition for his bravery.

Yea, my Dad went down to the grave with no special honors. He did get a 21 gun salute but that's it.

He never got metals or awards or any special acknowledgement. He served faithfully for 21 YEARS and Kerry served 4 months and came back only to bash his own countrymen.

I don't understand. I shake my head and cannot understand how the deserving warriors for our country were SPIT AT and Kerry joined in the "Spitting" and condemning...

He put our own men down and accused them of war crimes but he alone served only a meager 4 months. I'd like to know how he could know much of anything.

He wasn't there long enough to shine his shoes.

Sadly enough....that's how things work. There are SO many men and women who, as we speak, are risking their lives for the rest of us....and unfortunately, they too may never receive any recognition. No one person deserves more gratitude and recognition than another in such circumstances. But that's how it appears to happen in most cases. Your father may not have received any rewards, but the role he played is just as important as anyone else's, and all you can do is share his story so that he CAN be recognized for his heroic bravery.

I'm confused, though. Why were so many pictures, photographs and tons of film footage taken of an obscure man, *(John Kerry) unless he was being "groomed" by higher powers?

My father was a true war hero and nobody catalogued his work on the front lines.

It is unfortunate how many go unrewarded for their services, and yet how one who runs for president who more than happily bashes those who serve is one to be rewarded with the hearts. Makes no sense... I agree.

Like stated above, its not what you do, its who you know.

Your right, he was obviously being groomed for higher things. He did become a govoner and now alomst a president.

BUT

That doesnt excuse anyone from dispelling the actions of your dad. He sounds like a true hero in his own right, and I bet you he knows this. He did what was aksed of him, and even things that werent (staying), and he deserves more recognition for what he did.

Consider it this way, for posting this, you just introduced new people to a hero who would have never known about him before. John Kerry is a media baby. If im not mistaken the purple hearts are for acts of bravery when it comes to saving others lives, which he did. Still doesnt mean that your dad is any less of a hero.

Why is this Kerry guy getting all the attention? Why are there film crews following him? This isn't even right...

Kerry seemed to have a entourage following him everywhere, notating his every step.

They don't seem to have the film footage of his wounds, though. Hmmm.

Remember in this day and age the truth is not something that is smiled upon, nor is true bravery, courage, and doing what is right. America as well as the other countries have lost sight of what is truly important and that is the one who gives us the courage as well as strength to do as we do...God.

Your father more than likely is already aware that he is a hero because you keep him as such in your heart, and surely that is a reward enough in itself.
