It is reminiscent of his recieving the Nobel peace prize just for being himself. :runforhills:

I am told that the magazine is putting a silver border around the cover instead of red. This has only happened 4 times since 1927. Once had a green border for earth day, and the special issue after 9/11 had a black border...... the 9/11 tenth anniversary had a silver border and this issue will have a silver border....

very common for a sitting President to be the "person of the year"... Bush was twice, Clinton was twice, Bush I was once, Reagan twice, Nixon twice (in a row), LBJ twice, Ike once as Pres and once as a Gen. Truman once...

also, remember that it is not always given to a "good" person...Hitler and Staon were named this once.

The little girl in Pakistan who suffered attempts on her life for promoting education for women would have been a more suitable and appropriate choice.

no disagreement here, just trying to cut off at the pass any talk of Obama getting some sort of special treatment.

Yes. Because we all know Obama hasn't gotten any special treatment from the press. :whistling:

The green one on earth day is kind of obvious, and they said the black one was for mourning..... I can't find what the silver one was supposed to mean. I just found it odd that they would use the silver again.
