Sins are just around us. They are scattered everywhere to serve as bait to steal us away from the light of Christ. Everyone is part of the very tough spiritual battle that God and His angels are fighting against Satan and his demons. Now, the choice is ours on whose side we will be.

God sends many instruments to help us win the spiritual battle. Worship and praise are powerful tools that God is happy to hear while demons certainly fear.

Romans 7, what a great text but lets not stop there! We can't leave people thinking that they cannot actually rule over sin within them. By the power of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who quickens the flesh we can have the victory. In Romans 7 Paul is of course explaining life in a body as a slave to sin who has dominion when one is under the law without the Spirit's power.

I don't think this matches the context of what Paul is saying... Paul is giving personal testimony after 20 years of being converted in Christ! Love, Steven

I learned in scripture when it comes to sin, to focus on getting to know God.

As long as you live on this earth you are going to sin. You will never be perfect in this life. Not only do you know that, but God knows that. As you recognize sin in your life, confess it, and believe what He promises you. Jesus came to save us from the penalty of our sins!

Jesus said its like grapes on a vine. Jesus is the main vine and he said we are like the branches. “Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

You don't believe that you can rule over sin in your body, Steven?

No not perfectly no and neither did Paul teach so- Phil 3:7-14 or John for that matter

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us- 1 Jn 1:8-10

This 'we have' is transliterated 'echomen' it is in 1st person plural present active indicative!

Sinlessness is perfect obedience to God's Word ...

Mk 12:30-31

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind,

and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: 'You

shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

NKJV

I would hope no child of God would claim perfect obedience to the above in any given day except

that of Our Lord! It is why I need His Life over my own... mine just won't hold up unto the scrutiny

of The Holy Righteous Father! Love, Steven

Funny how you start adding words to the conversation that were never even mentioned. Nobody said anything about 'perfect obedience' but of course that is where you chose to take it. So why is it that you cannot have victory over sin through the power of the Spirit, Steven?

I added only my own understanding to "ruling over sin in this body" as I see it to be perfect obedience to God... anything less is a false mark!

You and I have a destiny to stand before perfection... here we have a mark as Paul to press toward never obtaining but always pressing toward!

Remembering always my righteousness is in Christ alone through faith alone and that not of myself! I have seen what self righteousness can do to

individuals... they first lower the standard that Christ met Himself and then consider themselves finished and victorious... Anything less than Christ is an

idol of man's making!

So what does that look like in everyday life for you?

I try to live my life as purchased by Christ... I fail! Everyday I fail... and I am pretty much broken and contrite about this!

When I turn to His Word It speaks to me of great sacrifices Jesus daily lived as example to me and How He did it perfectly... I

rarely ever feel I have even approached the bar of His beginning of day ... John speaks of His Lord as One Who lived as one without

regard to self interest but was always consumed with That of The Fathers Will- His Person was of commanding presence and His

Words moved all who were in the wake of the voice... This was The Lord in His Own Body - now - He 'IS' in mine yet I do not see

this working out of me! Therefore I can only conclude it is because of myself in the way of His Perfect Life Within... I weep, I beg Him

please do not let the worthless thing prevent the fullness of His Glory being performed. As the morning begins I am assured of new

mercies and perhaps I can die more this day than one before but the flesh never changes and in this = hatred for it and the world that

encourages it- grows within my heart proportionally! I literally know that Glory to The Son presented to The Father 'IS' the highest form

of living and that carries a cross of my own to bear and I am tender to my own needs this also is a shame for me... to consider that

which ends over that which does not is an error that I seem not to be able to drive into my thick skull- and I mean thick!!!

As this is true within by He Who makes it so -you should see a man who is daily rendered to need His Lord more than anything else

in a body that will not yield to these Spiritual realities that my spirit hears from The Spirit... I can understand those who beat themselves

but that merely mans effort to self attainment of Holiness - Only God holds Holiness as possession therefore it must be given as through

grace of His Son as a garment to wear undeserved yet with eternal thanksgiving and indebtedness!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
