It is a very nice presentation, but I do not buy it. Now the dilemna, do I mark Sept 2013 in my facebook calendar as the rapture? I think not.

Well, I am a bit concerned at some assumptions. In no particular order, the author of the video:

• States that is is clear in scripture that a pretribulational rapture of the church is in view. That is not in evidence, and it certainly is not clear to me.
• Offers as evidence, that the church is not mentioned, in most of the book of Revelation. If failure to mention something, is evidence of it's non existence, then shouldn't the failure to mention a pre-tribulation rapture in the Bible, also be evidence of it's non-existence?
• Equates the passages about the Moon turning to blood, and the Sun not giving it's light, with total lunar eclipses. He implies that this has happend many times, such as after the rebirth of the nationof Israel, and the recapture and control of Jerusalem. In as much as those passages also mention the stars falling from the sky, or the heavens rolling up as a scroll ect. shouldn't all of the mentioned celestial phenomena occur for these to be considered fulfillments?
• Offers that the 'blood moon' after the re-establisment of Israel, is evidence that this bllod moon is a sign. Shouldn't a sign precede the event? More importantly, shouldn't it occure in the year of the event, not sometime after? What is the time limit for sometime after, before it no longer counts?
• Implies that the Book of Revelation is in chronological order, most students and commnentators of the book, acknowledge that this is not the case.
• Believes that Jerusalem witt get it's temple, 2014-2015 - That would be incredible, and if it happens, I will be very impressed
• States that the Arabs don't want Christian on the temple mount - maybe so, but they allow Christian tour groups there, even inside the Dome of the Rock

 

These things take us just half way into the film, and give one things to ponder concerning the credability of the presentation. BTW, techically, one of those blood moons is not really a total eclipse, but it is very close, so I will cut some slack.

Signs in the heavens are meant as guidelines only. They can tell us when certain things have come to pass or when we have entered another stage of prophecy. I don't believe that they are there for us to make forecasts with - this is in essence little more than astrology!

Nobody should be giving dates for the rapture or tribulation. If they are then I choose to ignore them. The only 'prophecies' that man can give and I use the word 'prophecies' loosely are the ones that predict man's behaviour, so for example for me to prophecise that the next Olympic games will be in the year 2016, is a fair and reasonable assumption on my part even if it does not come to pass.

If something is prophecised in the Bible and I can link it to something man-made then it would a reasonable task to try and give it an approximate date range, but the timing of the rapture is out-of-bounds as it is known only to God.

Who is to say that even God has set a date for it, he may be still deciding on that one? Only he knows. He can even change his mind and bring it forward or postpone it. He is not breaking any promises to us by doing so as he never told us a date in the first place. If God has already set an exact date and someone by chance stumbles upon that exact date, will God continue with that date or will he change it? Who knows, I certainly don't.

I am always weary of a person's claim to have calculated the dates of the rapture or 'second coming' or anything like that. Even when they play safe and don't give an exact date, only the month, I still think that they are stepping out of bounds. It's not prophecy it's 'Harold Campinology.'
