Media shrug at Boston blunders

The inaccurate report by CNN and other news organizations about an arrest in the Boston bombing case was arguably one of the most flagrant errors on a story of major national consequence in years.

When the news organizations later corrected their mistakes, there seemed to be something missing — any big shows of contrition, or even a sense of the magnitude of the error.

I see this kind of thing all the time.

Reporting of anything in general these days is just so bad - the information source...who is it? I wouldn't be surprised if it is from the "man in the street".....all news programs now ask from the general public for visual information or general information on anything they have seen or heard.

Media outlets are so wanting the first to have "new" news even if it turns out to be false - who cares? The media? They are the least who would care.

I was surprised, and I mean REALLY surprised that since the time the bombing of the marathon happened last week, NO - ONE at my work place has even mentioned it in the lunch room.....makes me wonder if things of this magnitude really affects anyone anymore.

This whole thing has just been crazy...they played it like an action movie and there was alot of talk but no real evidence...and then they had to keep going back to say that this was wrong or that was wrong...no wonder there are so many people confused.

What I find most strange is that so many people are taking the side of the supposed terrorists. I have NEVER seen anything like this before. Thousands of people clam that the two bothers were innocent. Have you ever heard of anyone in America standing up for a supposed terrorist before?

I agree BFP - it's quite disturbing and sinister what's emerging - where a homeland terrorist is being hailed as innocent.

It would be rather arrogant of me to sit here behind my computer screen and rule as a judge in the matter based upon what little evidence I am given, not knowing whether said evidence is even actual. Our Lord was tried and killed all the while innocent. Satan feeds off of using our 'eyes' that were opened in the garden of Eden to blind us to the truth and then cause us to deliver one another up unto death believing that we are doing God a favor.

I need to sit this one out and refrain judgment that I not be judged in like manner. Looking into the glass darkly.

Hopefully more accurate information will be forthcoming...there seems to be a mess of stuff out there right now!

Lets just hope it doesn't turn the conspiracy corner in the way that 9/11 did.....

For the victims sakes, the US needs to get this right - and fast.

To me, it seems like disinformation/misinformation is out there to bring out the skeptics and who-done-it's. It keeps people distracted and away from other matters going on.
