Yes I wasn't either until perhaps this year. Understanding that Job is a contrast to Proverbs also helps. Job was a righteous man who loved God. Conventional wisdom (otherwise known as wise proverbs) would say that he should be wealthy, blessed with family, and respected by all. Instead, his wife tells him to curse God and die. His friends (after being silent for 7 days) keep pointing to the fact that he must have done something wrong in order for God to punish him. Then a presumably young guy comes in and re-emphasizes everything the other 3 friends had said - Job needs to confess his sin and repent. Yet God reveals Himself to Job. And God basically says that unless Job prays the 3 friends will be punished. So, after hearing all the 3 friends self-righteous accusations against Job, he prayed for them and asked God to forgive them. What a story of grace! And to top it off God blessed Job more than he had originally... Love the book. Another story of God's revelation of Himself. Reminds me in life we're usually in one of three phases: in a storm, coming out of a storm, or going into a storm. God bless, GE

Its a scary thought that God would allow satan so much freedom to destroy our life and loved ones, simply to show such an evil character that we will stay faithful in our faith Would you care to discuss the "hedge of protection" on another thread? I find this topic very interesting. God bless, GE

The key from my point of view is “If you see when I'm taken”. There is something about what God will let you see,
