1 Peter 3

15but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;

I have a question for everyone regarding this scritpure.

This is a very friendly, discussion board whom many have welcomed me graciously and I am thankful for that.

I have noticed in the apologetics board that it was mentioned that people might have delted Jehova's Wintess posts. In light of the above scritpure, why should we delte thier posts if they have a reason for thier hope?

The way I see it, if they have scritpure to back thier argument up, they should be allowed to post it. I know we all won't agree with them (myself included) however I think the freedom to post scripture goes hand in hand with us examining oulselves. For how do we sharpen eachother if we do not have to go to the word to see if we are in the truth?

For all we know, they could be right about something, but how would we know if we don't let them (and others like them) post a reason for thier hope?

This is a plea not only for JW's but for all others who might be repressed.

Thanks.

May I share with you the Statement of Faith of this Board?

We believe in God, the almighty creator of heaven and earth.

We believe in the triunity of God. We believe that God is eternally One, and also eternally the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit -- the three being distinct, but not separate. Each Person of the Godhead coexists from everlasting to everlasting.

We believe in the Messiah, Jesus, God's only begotten son, God come in the flesh. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate. He was crucified, died and buried. On the third day, He rose and ascended into heaven. Now He is seated at the right hand of the Father and He will return to judge both the living and the dead and reign for evermore.

We believe all mankind are sinful and are therefore subject to God

As for Jesus, they say he is the first created thing, and is actually Michael the Archangel.

I see, I didn't notice the "statement of faith" here. Thanks for bringing that up.

So does this mean that only people who agree with the statement can post here?

What if someone who bleieves differently has scritpure to support thier belief? Do you think they should be able to post, or should it be restricted?

I'm kinda leaning towards they should be able to post just for the sake of giving a reason for thier hope...?

Just looking for input I guess, Thanks.

Skillet -

I don't know your parental status or not, but if you did have a baby or toddler, would you leave poison lying around just anywhere for your child to get into?

Again, a good comment nebula,

However I guess it really depends on what your defintiion of "poison" is. Of course in the case of a child, you would not dare do such a thing.

However, if the scritpure is there, what is the harm in letting them find out the truth for themsevles? Either they disagree with it, and it sharpens them for looking deeper, or they agree because the scripture is there to support it.

The obvious problem, is that some people might not even use scirpture to support belief, and then we get into troulbe.

I actually just had a pm from the co-oridnater here, apprently poeple who do not hold this belief (of the stamtent) arn't allowed to post.

Is this a fair thing to do if they have the scritpureal support?

What if somone has figured out a false doctrine w/in the "mainsteeem' should we not go about the scritpures to examine the evidence?

Again just throwing stuff out there, what do you guys think?

Thanks.

Skillet,

People of different faiths are allowed to post here. However, if someone of another religion or cult is here to seek converts, that is not allowed. This board is not a platform for anything else than the gospel of the Kingdom of God.

If a JW wants to ask questions about why we do not believe as they do, and they want to engage in honest debate, they are free to do so. I have yet to see people who are honest in their approach prevented from posting. If they seek to challenge what we believe then they are free to do so. Such is actually welcome, because it gives us the chance to properly share the gospel with them.

If a JW or someone else from another faith is here to seek converts, or just to pick a fight, it is different matter. Consider that this a privately owned board, and as such can make rules that are advantageous to the boards goals of lifting up Christ, and spreading the gospel.

There have been Jehova's witnesses post on this board, and what gets deleted is there posts from their false bible. I for one don't care to read them or any from the koran, book of mormon ect. They are all the words of men, not from God. If they post there opinions of doctrinal matters we can show them their error using The Scriptures Of God, and then it's up to them. I am an ex-mormon, and I know that they are a long ways away from Truth when you get to the core of what they believe, and teach. They have a smoke screen of Truth to cover their doctrines which sucks a lot of people in, and keeps them long enough for their brainwashing to take hold. That's the way most cults operate with christians.

Interested in what the definition of a "cult" is. Its always fascinated me. Seems some of these New Thought religions could be considered a cult but they're actually pretty correct on their scripture from what I can tell.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
