A+E announced that it's 'Duck Dynasty' show has a regular viewer following of about 14,000,000 Americans. Last I counted, the US population is about 320,000,000 That means slightly over 4% of the US populations even KNOWS what "Duck Dynasty" is let alone watches them on a regular basis. I didn't know what it was and have never seen the 'Duck Dynasty' show until days ago when the 'patriarch's' comments sparked a supposed furor over homosexuality. Sounds like a contrived 'crisis' just to get people to watch the show if you ask me. Sorry, but men or women jumping into ponds to 'noodle' catfish....catch snapping turtles...shoot muskrats....talk with "Cajun" patois accents not even Bobby Jundal can understand...or make mallard sounds with a piece of wood just doesn't sound like anything most Americans (even rednecks) care about or even would watch on TV. So why should what happens on Duck Dynasty matter to 95% of Americans or why should any cast member's comments about homosexuality should affect any of our lives? It DOESN"T matter and comments by cast members on 'Duck Dynasty' are as MEANINGLESS to me most Americans as they are to most who inhabit the world. ----------------------------------- Recent comments on Duck Dynasty are just a big ploy to make more money for a struggling (and soon to be defunct) TV show franchise I suggest. But Hey! That's me. Can I get the Duck Dynasty "Chia Beards" to grow any faster if I use Miracle Grow? <shakes head sadly> Didn't think so.... --------------------------- Anyone remember "The Real McCoys"? Didn't think so either.... Its really not about the "show" and whether you like it or not. Most Americans could care less whether you do or not either. That is just how the man is known by. I personally believe more Americans would be interested in pornography (over such "vile") But, I am only guessing, I havent got the overall numbers of those who choose to watch that sorta thing over Duck dynasty (or whichever other show might appeal to the numbers) Most likely many of them enjoy blowing things up on their x boxes (that is a favorite pastime of many in the U.S) And Miracle gro powder if rubbed on the skin can cause irritation, and if swallowed it can cause nausea and vomiting, so you might want to exercise caution if experimenting. It also contains urea, which can irritate the mouth, throat and stomach. I probably wouldnt suggest using it for speedily growing hair out of your face. With a little time and patience though, maybe you can have something just as handsome's as Phil's
Guest shiloh357
Recent comments on Duck Dynasty are just a big ploy to make more money for a struggling (and soon to be defunct) TV show franchise I suggest. But Hey! That's me. The show is not struggling. It is a cash cow for A&E and is their highest rated show. The Duck Dynastry brand was going gangbusters in terms of viewership and product sales long before this scandal. The negative backlash A&E got from millions of Americans proves the show's popularity will not dwindle. Frankly, you are clearly not in command of the facts. Your condescending tone is out of place and rings pretty hollow given the fact that you really don't understand what is going on.

Guest Butero
Those numbers may not sound big, but on a cable network like A&E, that is a huge audience. I think the only reason most people care about the opinions of celebrities is because they know them from their work, and they are interested in knowing what they are about? I have never cared about the opinion of all the left-wing actors and actresses, but others take them serious.
Guest shiloh357
The Robertson's show is so popular because it resonates with middle America. They represent a value system that most Americans share. Hollywood is deluded into thinking that they represent the mainstream, but they don't. They represent themselves. Both Washington DC and Hollywood are completely out of touch with regular Americans. Duck Dynasty resonates with people because they are real people and yes, they have a few eccentricities, but that makes the show interesting and fun to watch. People at least to some degree, can identify with them.

Didn't think so either.... well yes I do remember the Real McCoy's. Their last season ended when I was in high school. are you suggesting that was a waste? BTW speaking so lightly of 14 million cable viewers really shows your lack of knowledge of the cable media......
