You tell worldy people to forget their pre-concieved portrayal of Christianity. That whatever their image is, it's wrong - because lets face it, the old school programs of Songs of Praise really hasn't done our faith any favours. Yet people refuse to listen. They would prefer to stay set in their ignorance and go round and round in circles. To follow the long wide road to nowhere (well, realistically, it is going somewhere...but it ain't where I'm headed - unfortunately for them. There is still time though, just!)

Do they think we're telling porkies??? Do they think that my happiness is false? Do they think that they don't need what I have? Do they think that just because I have it, it doesn't mean that its for them?

Are these questions rhetorical? Or are you asking in all sincerity? The Bible has the answers to all of these questions. There is no quick and easy response. If you are sincere, you will pray and study and without a word let people see Christ in your life. Then they will see what great joy and happiness you have and will see your humble attitude and will approach you to get what you have. Pray for them and be prepared to give an answer to them for the hope that is in you.

People who do not have faith do not have the spiritual eye's to understand what those of us who have faith, know through experience. To them, the Bible and religion is foolishness. It doesn't make sense to them, because they have not received grace from God, which gives them faith.

It's the same as the non-believer's, who saw the disciples at Pentecost, who had received the Holy Spirit. The non-believer's accused them of being drunk or mad.

The key response to all of this is, "compassion." Be compassionate towards them!Try to understand that they are spiritually poor and do not understand. Pray for them and by all means, love them!

Be the example of Christ to them, not by being in their face with your religion, but rather by love.

God can not be grasped except by love.

Hi JimR and Dad Ernie, thanks for your responses.

These are both wise and true responses that are greatly appreciated.

Its just frustrating that sometimes people acknolwedge that they have seen the difference and change in you, but refuse to believe it has anything to do with Christ.

The most frustrating response I've had is "well it's working for you, but I don't think thats what I need"..it's obviously not their time, but I suppose the seeds have been sown and the rest is up to the Lord.

I will post another example in this forum called "Suffereing...yet they choose to ignore the solution ". Someone else may be able to relate further to this scenario and maybe be encouraged by it.
