Was Jesus crucified on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday?

Before/if  you read, I do not have a denomination - I'm not even non-denomination, which is a denomination. I've not darkened a building in many years people call "church". I am the church according to the word of God. In other words, you cannot infer what I'm going to say by someone else's teaching. This is my own study of the word of God. Knowing several spoken languages and computer languages, I can tell you there are biases in translating anything. This posting may seem long, but it only prints out all the verses. If you really want the truth, you have to read it for yourself.

Jesus' resurrection was on the "First Sabbath" the correct translation, which is because of the requirement for the counting of the Sabbaths after Passover to Pentecost!

Leviticus 23:15 (KJV)
And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

Strong's word for Sabbath is number G4521. Below are all 62 verses in the KJV that have G4521 in it. Pay attention to how it is differently translated only for the resurrection AND "church" gathering! It's actually anti-Semitic! The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week, always has been since God instituted it at Creation. The biased translations are highlighted in red.

Notice how even Young's Literal Translation is influenced by the "church" gathering on Sunday error. As to the "fast twice a week" nowhere does it say a fast is a full 24 hours. If there's 3 meals a day, then you can skip 2 and it be "fast twice a Sabbath". Finally, σάββατον (Greek for Sabbath) comes from the Hebrew (Strong's H7676) שַׁבָּת and means "a period of temporary rest, the Sabbath, the seventh day being the day of rest." And never once in all the 89 verses of the KJV is it translated other than Sabbath. But Hebrew isn't Greek, so let's take the Septuagint (the Hebrew scriptures written in Greek) and compare.

Exod 16:23 And Moses said to them, Is not this the word which the Lord spoke? To-morrow is the sabbath, a holy rest to the Lord: bake that ye will bake, and seethe that ye will seethe, and all that is over leave to be laid by for the morrow. LXXE

Lev 23:16 uses "last week" to refer to "after the morning of the Sabbath" to start the count of the Sabbaths to Pentecost, and the Rabbis used two Greek words "εσχατης εβδομαδος" to refer to the day before being the Sabbath. Then they used Sabbath to mean "throne" in 2 Kings 16:18. These are the only exceptions.

There it is for whatever it's worth. Jesus rose from the day on the Sabbath, which answers the Wednesday death too.

Full marks. Not a single mistake. To the letter true!

You cannot get the "Third day" from a Wednesday or a Thursday to a Sunday either. Proving that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and rose on a Sunday. "Friday, One day, Saturday, 2nd day, Sunday, The Third day".

Shalom, Abdicate.

You have other factors, though, to consider: First, the "week" is the weekly cycle from Shabbat to Shabbat, namely "Day 1" or the "Head Day" ("Yowm Echad" or "Yowm Rish'own") to the Day of Rest (Shabbat). In Greek, this is OFTEN written simply as "sabbatos," which may apply to either the 7th Day itself OR that weekly cycle of right after the Shabbat to the next Shabbat.

Second, there were TWO Shabbatiym that week! The Passover (Pesach) was considered a Shabbat because it was also a DAY OF REST! No work was to be done on Pesach! That's why Matthew 28:1 specifies "But after [the] Shabbats" PLURAL or "Opse de sabbatoon."

Third, the daily cycle was from sundown to sundown, making sunrise EXACTLY IN THE MIDDLE of the daily cycle! This, too, was called a "yowm" in Hebrew or a "heemeras" in Greek and was used interchangeably with the word "yowm" or "heemeras" referring solely to the time of daylight.

How these words were to be translated was based on CONTEXT; not on a "bias!"

Go on, the bigger the better show of your ineptness and ignorance. You cannot even see difference and contrariness in "in the end of the Sabbath" and 'after the Sabbath';

You boast your English proficiency, but you cannot differentiate between the dawning of the following day-cycle and the daylight of it.

You brag your Greek but cannot see a literally transliterated '~dawn~' does not exist, what, '~as the First Day was dawning~'.

Your every expression of vacuous thinking oozes your puny preconceived idiotic idea of a Sabbath morning Resurrection.
