Cyclone heading our way

Just letting you guys know that we've got a cyclone heading our way. Here's the web site for our Met department.

At the moment it's a severe Catagory 3, which means it has wind gusts of up to 170kph. I live only about 20 miles inland.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

Thanks in advance of your prayers. We desperatley need the rain, but not the nasty bits of a cyclone.

Ya Cats it is. Faithy I am praying that the cyclone stays out to sea far from land and that all you get is a gentle rain.

A cyclone twists the opposite way from a hurricane, but they can be just as mean.

Faithie, as one who is still dealing with the effects of a devastating hurricane, I will be praying that this one turns away from your land, but if it does hit you, I will also pray God's protecting hand be over you.

Thanks for all your prayers. At the moment it's still sitting about 1000kms off the coast and is expected to move slowly west south west over the next 48 hours. It's stationary at the moment and is deepening. Over the last 12 hours, it's deepened by 10 hectorpascals but still remains a Catagory 3 cyclone.

God will watch over you. Have Faith. Remember, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

That is interesting to learn the difference between a cyclone and a hurricane. Much like flushing a toilet. In the northern hemisphere the water swirls clockways. In the southern hemisphere it swirls counter-clockways. learn something new every day don't we?
