Unforgivable Sins??

Recommended Posts

But, you're telling me that that was all for nothing. I am lost. That my efforts to live the Christian life, and to help lead others to Christ is just a big waste of time, because I have a home waiting for me in the lake of fire. No matter what.

You're saying that no matter how broken I was, no matter how much begging I can do now, God has turned His back on me forever?

You're saying that God is so petty that He will not reach down and lift up one of His children who went astray, who came crawling back to Him weeping and crying out in anguish for forgiveness?

Budman,

I did not actually say any of the above things to you. You have put words into my mouth on this subject.

I was not accusing you. I was just simply asking you a question to which I wanted the answer, and wanted to know what you thought.

Your experience is between you and the Lord, not for me to answer.

Sorry if I offended you.

Actually, I think he was talking to me....

At which point I gave my own experience.. and also shared that if the Spirit still draws you then you haven't comitted the unpardonable....

Matthew 12:

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Matthew 12:

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

I said I was goint to leave this alone.... But yet here I am again...

Matthew 9:2 - And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

Matthew 14:27 - But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Mark 6:50 - For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Acts 23:11 - And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

Acts 27:22 - And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

Acts 27:25 - Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

A discussion like this can get very serious ...so I thought we could use something to lighten all of us! In Christian Love, Tanner

When I was younger and far more stupid than I am today, I turned my back on God and got into satanism. I worshiped the devil, I prayed to the devil. I craved what other dumb kids like me did, power and respect. I thought Satan could give me both.

While I was living in Las Vegas, I worked at a K-mart. A fellow who was a Christian was one of my co-workers. He spent a great deal of time trying to win me back to the Lord.

To make a long story short, I asked him what was the worst thing a person could do to anger God. He told me about the "unpardonable sin."

One day in my apartment, right in front of him, I blasphemed the Holy Spirit, I said some of the most vile and pornographic things a person could ever say about God the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. I even willingly opened myself up for possession.

Shoot ahead about a year from that moment. I went through an exorcism. I repented in tears and agony over the things I had said and done, and I returned to the Lord.

But, you're telling me that that was all for nothing. I am lost. That my efforts to live the Christian life, and to help lead others to Christ is just a big waste of time, because I have a home waiting for me in the lake of fire. No matter what.

Is that the God you worship?

That's not my God, friend.

Hi Budman. Er, what's the nic supposed to mean? J/K!

Hey, i used to be a satanist (traditional variety, not LaVeyian), but then Jesus called me, cast the devils out of me, filled me with the Holy Ghost, and praise God washed me in His blood by His precious name!

Jesus said "whoever speaks a word against the Holy Ghost never has forgiveness" in the context of the Pharisees claiming He hd an unclean spirit.

You say you said all manner of evil things against the Holy Spirit. However, we should consider the fact that it was because they said HE had an unclean spirit. When you said what you said, did you really believe that JESUS HAS AN UNCLEAN SPIRIT? That Jesus was "of the devil"? I doubt it. Being a satanist, I would hardly imagine believing that Jesus was "of the devil" lol.

So I do nto think you committed the unpardonable sin. Especially seeing as you have obviously repented.

Praise the Lord He brought you out of that miry pit!

Now as for seeing miracles etc, I have seen healings and known people who were healed and have even been healed myself several times. I had a tumour on my neck (had it for about 15 years or so) and it simply DOES NOT EXIST NOW after prayer! Hallelujah! God is awesome!

Anyway, the power of the Holy Ghost is still around, and it is for everyone who believes! Peter said this promise is unto you, your children, and those who are far off, as many as the Lord our God shall call! What a wonderful Saviour we have!

It's nice to meet another person who was delivered out of that junk like I was.

peace-

I really just decided to come here and read what was being said in this posting.... and I have to say that I am very happy to know that even Satanists have come to the Lords side... in the end... I am hoping that we all will. Anyway... I really hate that as in many issues with speaking ones mind... people have come to argue on whos views are right... I read and understood the point from all involved... and I have to say... no one was saying anything overtly mean... the Bible has a way of being interpreted(sp~~ sorry) differently by different people... so as long as we understand that.... maybe then the arguing will at least subside... a tish...

God Bless You all... and I am happy to see so many brothers and sisters in one place.

I think we're all agreed that the "unpardonable sin" has to do with attributing the works of Jesus to Satan. The Greek word translated "guilty" is enochos meaning something held fast or bound. The Greek verb estin (from eimi) is in the Greek present tense meaning that the guilt is always upon the one who doesn't recognize the Holy Spirit as the Power behind the work of Christ. Ergo, to deny that Power is to be eternally guilty of the "unpardonable sin."

Howdy Essaias,

When you said what you said, did you really believe that JESUS HAS AN UNCLEAN SPIRIT? That Jesus was "of the devil"? I doubt it. Being a satanist, I would hardly imagine believing that Jesus was "of the devil" lol.

True. But the Bible says this:

"And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." (Matthew 12:32)

That's just what I did. I spoke against Him. It doesn't say anything about requiring that I believe in what I said for it to be "the" sin.

what's the nic supposed to mean?

One of my favorite movies is Urban Cowboy. I think John Travoltas character "Bud" is really cool. Hence; Budman.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
