Paper bags are not good for frozen items because they break when condensation makes them wet. That is a huge pain in the back to collect everything and get them into the house.

We reuse everything and we still have 30 years accumulation of plastic.

the only thing my wife has kept for 30 years is me and the house....

She is a saint

I love canvas shopping bags. But I dont use them for shopping. I prefer paper bags but who can find them any more. The plastic ones do not keep things upright and end up spilling out in the car unless you tie every bag. Mike does like the plastic bags though for taking out food trash every morning so it doesnt stink up the house. So to answer n's question. Nope we do not have a plastic bag full of plastic bags that never get used up.

What did they use before plastic was invented  :26:

Sackcloth is mentioned in the book of Genesis, so I am going to go out on a limb and guess that sacks were made from cloth, for quite some time prior to plastic.

I was  wondering ,,,,

Does anyone else have a plastic bag full of plastic bags hidden away in the house , or is it just me.   :noidea:

Not at my place . . .

The WalMart bags from shopping trips get used for lunch bags, trash can liners, litter disposal (when I had a cat,) and other assorted uses. I have to double bag canned goods for the trip home, so I almost never run out of them. Haven't bought plastic bags for trash cans in years.

I bought trash cans to fit the shopping bags instead . . .

Poor man's recycling.

N come to Wales...here we have to pay 5p for every plastic bag we use

If you have too many give them to charity shops as they can use them for customers who do not bring a bag with them

Careful of the Tesco ones...they disintegrate and you get plastic dandruff everywhere
