ATF bucked today under pressure, and decides not to ban 5.56 M855 "green tip" ammo, commonuly used for various purposes including sport shooting, and home protection. Most commonly used by the controversial AR-15 rifle, though is used by other weapons as well. The decision came after stiff opposition from the senate, the NRA, GOA, and other organizations.

Congress saw this policy for what it was, and called the President out on it.  I'm glad the BATFE backed down.
