Guest
If anyone is interested I found a copy of the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms with Proof Texts that has the full proof texts included. You don't have to look up individual references as everything is included in one volume. Pretty handy for looking things up. There was a version of this listed on Amazon, but now its listed as not available. You can get it from the OPC here: https://store.opc.org/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=WCF-with-proofs Just passing on something a friend shared with me. Not all Christians are Calvinists.
Guest
I trust most are aware that the Westminster Confession is a strictly Calvinistic interpretation of Scripture. Not all Christians are Calvinists. I posted the link for anyone interested. There are other confessions available and most are on line too, so its pretty easy to compare them. The confessions are not scripture, but they do but they do contain an awful lot of scripture. I'll leave debates about Calvinism, etc. for another thread. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood. He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity. And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lamentations 3:14-22 Praise The Holy Name Of Jesus~! They did things like that in the Middle Ages in Europe -- and they were wrong. They figured that out eventually and stopped that sort of thing.
