'We will not obey': Christian leaders threaten civil disobedie

I agree that there's too much focus by many church-leaders, in this situation, on money.

Both the tax-exempt status that might change and the process of making money off of

weddings (instead of viewing them as performing a sacrament).

If church-leaders would focus on only marrying Christians (to the Glory of God) and

therein ensuring that the couple getting married are involved in serving their Lord, there

would be no problem with the "gay agenda"... it would be a non-sequitur.

Losing tax exempt status won't change the fact that churches will be required to do gay weddings.   Taking away the 501c3 will only be the first phase of their punishment of churches.   if that doesn't force a church to comply, other measures will be taken.

Once they go down this road, the State will be hell bent on forcing compliance.  This was bound to happen whether we had the 501c3 or not.   So, start looking at more pastors be fined or going to jail, churches incurring huge fines so big that they will not be able to pay them and be forced to close down...  It's coming.

But pastors are not required to marry anybody by law... they're not forced into that role, right?

So they can give up that role in the legal sense and only marry

according to Biblical mandates/traditions.

Then they can pick and choose who they marry...

But what's to stop the State from saying at some point, "You will marry gay people, period. Whether you want to marry anyone else or not, you WILL marry gay people if they request it?"

They are already trying to force it on Christians in Idaho.

What I'm saying is that the Christian "comeback" to this whole fiasco is to simply

quit "legally" marrying people altogether and only perform Religious Ceremonies.

Yes, I understand that.   What I am saying is that the State could if it wanted to, mandate that  pastor could not refuse a gay wedding if he is approached to perform one, whether or not he is 'legally' performing weddings.

Maybe, but I doubt it... forcing someone do perform a ceremony

or doing a "civic duty" against their will would be a big step towards

Fascism.

Have you paid attention to the news? Lol.

Since when has the feds, under this administration, ever tried to adhere to the law? They are willingly taking that road to fascism.
