You search in vain, friend! It just isn't there! Look at the passages which mention 'King of Tyre' instead (Ezek. 28:13-14).

Hi Preach...It is as Leonard said...

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Eze 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Lucifer may have been a musical being...in that all the angels of Heaven worshipped the L-rd -d Almighty...but nowhere does it say/suggest/hint that he was the minister of music to the best of my understanding.

The pending destruction of Tyre and the present King who was probably a chap called Ithobalus are being contrasted with Lucifer who was cast out of Heaven and Adam who was expelled from the Garden of Eden...commentaries disagree with each other...but this is how I read it.

Could be Botz. I tend to just think the Hebrew prophets spoke in very high-flung imagery.

Does God allow anything within his book that is not good for the instruction of his own? Remember the Hebrew prophets put pen to paper, but it was God who wrote the books.

....and we who so often misinterpret what God was telling us!

Oh a releated note, an excellent, all though startling... but isn't most truth?, documentary is "They Sold Their Souls for Rock and Roll", the 4 hour version.

Produced and distributed by www.goodfight.org

It will have alot of well documented info you may find useful, most people who've watched it with me have been blown away enough to toss most of their cd collections.

Hi Sara. I watched the shortened version of the video...it is nothing new really...there is a potential for good and evil in most things...I like a lot of Rock but obviously if some of it has an ungodly aspect to it and has been dedicated to evil we should not participate.

As for the comments about the word of G-d...yes we do misinterpret quite a lot sometimes...but I also believe there is great diversity within the Scriptures that can effectively work at various levels...this is historically the case with the many Jewish scholars who bring tried and tested methods of exploring biblical meaning to the Holy writ in an effort to squeeze the last drop of truth from the words.

The word of G-d is unusual and differs from all other writings in that it is alive and is not limited to the finite understanding of the mind of men...and what the Holy Spirit reveals to the heart of one person may be very different to what is revealed to someone else....this is not a case of G-d shifting the goal-posts but of catering for each of us as individuals by tailoring the emphasis to fit our individual needs.

I understand what you are saying about God revealing different levels of His nature through the Bible as a Christian matures. But I don't think I agree that the Bible is not absolute. Within it are absolutes: The Ten Commandments, Jesus our Savior, Grace through his sacrifice/Jesus is sufficient, and Jesus' return with New Jerusalem to setup His Kingdom.

These things are borne out in the Bible quite plainly. Besides prayer, the one idea that guides my study is that the Bible can not contradict itself. If passages seem to contradict one another, then my understanding is at fault not the Bible.

Hi Jamie. Sorry only just saw I had not addressed your comment.

I totally agree with the truth about biblical absolutes as you have clearly pointed out...what I was suggesting is that the Bible often hints at several things within one passage...especially in a prophetic context and this may not be apparent for hundreds if not thousands of years.

Take for example Isaiah 53 which ostensibly might generally refer to the nation of Israel and their sufferings but has a much more defined and absolute meaning when it is seen as the suffering of the L-rd (as you are probably aware the Jews today see that passage as referring to them and not Jesus.)

Take another example. The description of the lambs blood placed on the door posts and the lintel in the household of the Israelites about to leave Egypt.

It is a straightforward description and means exactly what it says...and yet a quick look at the words and the imagery will also reveal other interesting and relevant truths....the lintel and the door-posts are in the shape of the Hebrew letter 'Chet'...this translated by itself means 'sin' The Angel of Death 'passed over ' every house daubed with Lanbs blood in these places....we know that through the blood of the Lamb our sins have been passed-over...He is our 'Passover Lamb'.

You could even take the 10 Commandments that you have mentioned and see that sometimes one Law can supercede another Law...but I am sure you are aware of this...hope it clarifies a little. :21:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
