Im so glad to see someone else dislikes the social justice gospel.

 

 

What is social justice gospel.

 

 

Social issues are emphasized in a church and things like sin, salvation etc are so downplayed that they cease to be part of a church.

 

In other words, a false gospel is preached where fixing societal problems is the main goal of a church and the whole need for redemption by Jesus is no longer even considered.

As distasteful as it is from a religious standpoint, it is the correct decision legally.

If Social Security benefits, property rights, hospital visitation rights, tax filing status, and other legal issues are all tied to martial status there is no legal reason to deny those based upon our religious views.

Religion has nothing to do with it. We are not of this world, we are just in it until we are removed by the Lord. While I agree that this is not a battle that we, as believers, can win, it is not an issue that we should just accept and ignore. GOD made HIS legal system, and that is the one we are to follow. Not some man made system that is devised to oppose GOD's stated will.

God's legal system does not seem to address the civil issues listed above.

 

No offense, but have you read the Bible lately? GOD, in the OT, and Christ in the NT, said that homosexuality is an abomination. A sin is a sin, no matter what "civil" remedy that man comes up with to justify or ligitimize something. Social justice Christianity is a cop-out.

 

Basically, there is a tension between a God-centered approach to social justice and a man-centered approach to social justice. The man-centered approach sees the government in the role of savior, bringing in a utopia through government policies. The God-centered approach sees Christ as Savior, bringing heaven to earth when He returns. At His return, Christ will restore all things and execute perfect justice. Until then, Christians express God's love and justice by showing kindness and mercy to those less fortunate.

I don't think that will happen any time soon, but those who will be tested by same sex couples wanting to flaunt the law will be a problem for many godly churches and their leadership. This will set the stage for more intolerance and abject hatred toward those who uphold righteousness.

This decision was based on equal protection.  That is a phony argument.  If that were true, you would have to immediately allow polygamy, as well as a man or woman to marry animals, or even children.  Who are we to say anything against it.  They can't help who they love.  The bottom line is that under the existing laws, everyone had equal protection.  A man could marry a woman.  A gay man could marry a woman.  A lesbian woman can marry a man.  They are creating new rights, not equal rights.  This should be a wake-up call, and I think it is time to start a serious secessionist movement.

I would never marry a gay person.

Gay marriage goes against God's word.

The United States is not a theology, thus our laws are not bases upon God's word.

A gentleman I work with is gay and there is no legitimate legal reason he and is partner should be denied the same benefits that my wife and I enjoy.

The civil benefits such as social security benefits, visitation rights, property transfer rights, tax filing categories and more have nothing to do with religious beliefs or God's word.

These things take time. It's not something that happens overnight. When homosexuality was first legalised (back in the 1960s or 1970s in most Western nations) sceptics claimed that it would eventually lead to homosexuals demanding more rights such as marriage, adoption of children. These sceptics were laughed at when it didn't happen straight away. But sure enough they were proven to be right. Some even claimed that legalisation of homosexual acts would eventually lead to legalisation of pedophilia, and now the LGBT movement is aligning itself with pedophile groups despite their insistence that homosexuals are not pedophiles.

I agree that most homosexuals are not pedophiles but you can bet your last cent that the demons responsible for homosexuality and transgenderism are the same demons that cause pedophile urges and impulses. Look at movements such as NAMBLA - they wouldn't have dared to even exist if it hadn't been for society's gradual acceptance of homosexuality.

I'm not attacking individual homosexuals, they are victims of sin the same as the rest of us, but the 'gay lobby' has nothing to do with homosexuality - that's just a cover. The idea is to destroy family values and remove God from society. homosexuals are just useful idiots in this. If and when the Leftists finally get their way and turn Western nations into tyrannies, homosexuals will be among the first to be rounded up and thrown into correction camps because they will have outlived their usefulness. They are just pawns in the entire movement to bring about a Marxist NWO, a movement that is driven by Satan himself.
