You really should put forth the effort to make the distinction between tribulation and wrath.

The entire Tribulation period is a time of JUDGEMENTS upon the ungodly. God pours out His wrath throughout this period as revealed in Rev 6:12 through Rev 19:5.

What is plainly and directly stated in scripture is that the rapture happens (AS MODIFIED):

  • at Christ's coming  -- FOR HIS SAINTS, NOT WITH HIS SAINTS
  • at the last trumpet -- FOR HIS SAINTS, NOT FOR THE JUDGEMENTS
  • right after the resurrection -- OF THE MAIN HARVEST
  • on the last day -- FOR THE CHURCH ON EARTH
  • on the day of the Lord -- BEFORE THE DAY OF THE LORD
  • like a thief -- AS FAR AS THE WORLD IS CONCERNED
  • after the armies have gathered for Armageddon -- LONG BEFORE THAT. THIS IS WHEN THE LORD COMES WITH HIS SAINTS

The "last day" is a metaphor for a period of time extending for at least 1,000 years.

I prefer to actually reconcile all of those characteristics of the resurrection / rapture for they all speak of the same event, the same point in time...which only makes sense that it take place at the seventh trumpet.  I don't think that it will be too many more years before you begin to see it that way too.  By the way, what is your trigger event?  Every pre-tribber should have one, you know, that event which convinces them that the pre-trib didn't happen...that "we're still here" moment.  Nevertheless, I pray that you, and the rest of us, fare well.

By the way, what is your trigger event?

You could call the falling away within Christendom the trigger event.  Even evangelical and fundamentalist churches are showing a greater and greater departure from the truth, and that is what Paul tells us will be the key event. When homosexual clergy and same-sex marriages are considered "OK" we know things can only worse.

Falling away within Christendom is hardly anything new. It was what spurred the Reformation but we know the rapture did not happen then. I am not pretrib but I thought the trigger event for pre-trib would be the unveiling of the antichrist. Don't pretrib believe that the church would be raptured before the antichrist is unveiled? Or is it only some pretrib that think so?

And since this is happening today, the rapture is not pre-trib?

That's what your answer seems to indicate.
