Kids in class or adults thinking while filing out a form!!!! A nervous habit? There is a sense of pleasure to the one doing it!!Guilty on snapping or popping gum IF I chew it. I think the pen thing is pleasurable to the person doing it, just as popping gum is a mindless pleasure....avoid chewing gum for that reason.Chewing food with open mouth is not just gross but disgustingly disgusting particularly if the person is talking at the same time...is ir acceptable in some parts of the world? Yet I know well bred people who slurp soup...I am guilty of being a gum snapper.
Guest
It’s a bit curious that certain activities that are meant to reduce stress in self (such as pen-clicking) when stuck in an unpleasant situation often contribute to the stress of those around us as a result. Absolutely Shiloh, there is absolutely no need to chew food with your open open and let people see what you are eating ,parents should teach their children at a very young age that is is not polite to eat with your mouth open and to make chewing sounds, many parents these days don't care..:(
Guest shiloh357
It also helps, if you are going to eat with someone, to go to noisy restaurants where they have the music turned up. Places like Applebees, TGI Fridays or Cheddars come to mind. You almost have to shout at the other person for them to hear you talk, but at least you can't hear them eat.
