War in my opinion is wrong. I disagree with anyone saying that its necessary or okay, simply because the Lord Jesus was against it.

Basically, my qestion is: do any of you agree with the wars America or any other country for that matter have started , or partaken in( In the name of God)?

Jesus taught that if someone hits you on the right cheek( cant remember exactly which cheek comes first...sorry...but you all know the scripture) we are to turn to them the other also( not hit them back), he also taught us that we should LOVE our ENEMIES and PRAY for those who persecute us (not go to war with them). The bible also teaches that our struggle isnt against the flesh but against the powers of darkness in the SPIRITUAL REALM. (forgive me for not quoting, but all should remember the actual scriptures i'm talking about. If someone wants me to give the actual ref. I'll post it aswell.) :emot-handshake:

So again, tell me, where does this idea of going to war in the name of God come from?

So stopping the muder of 12 million people was not justifiable? If Jesus is against war, why did He support it in the Old Testament? Did God's character change?

I for one do not like war but being in the military it is always a possibility that I will be called into war. I will go to battle at anytime to protect the people of a country who needs it. Like in Iraq, with the innocent people dealing with the destructive gorillas. I would peotect anyone who deserves it and theses people do. No one should live in fear in their own country. So, war in itself stinks but at this time, this war and what our purpose is over there, I think war is necessary.

War is not pleasant, but it is sometimes necessary. I know firsthand what it is like to be in combat. As ugly as it is, I also saw the atrocities that saddam hussein committed against his own people, and it was necassary he be stopped and removed from power. he is an evil man.

We sometimes have to take on the cause of others, because it is the right and just thing to do.

Your question, where does the idea of going to war in the name of God,which is a consistent claim of Muslim terrorists, come from, does have an answer. It comes from Satan.Jesus taught love, forgiveness and peace. Those who advocate war, teach hate, retaliation and war.AT NO TIME DID JESUS EVER AUTHORIZE WAR FOR ANY PURPOSE OR REASON. The reason is that that He was sent to earth to deliver the new testament which replaced the legalism of the old testament with an emphasis on love and forgiveness. There are major changes Jesus made in old testament teachings but none more significant than the teachings to love your enemy and to do good to those who hate us which replaced the "an eye for an eye" teaching.

Someone mentioned that Jesus drove the hypocrites out of the temple. What does that have to do with war?We should drive the hypocrites out of our churches!Romans 13:4 refers to punishment for criminals but it makes absolutely no reference to war.Christians are obligated to oppose evil through love, good works and prayer asking for God's protection.

The philosophy that guides those who support war is one of hate and unforgiveness driving them to retaliate..This is the biblical teaching on that,"IF YOU DO NOT FORGIVE,NEITHER WILL YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN FORGIVE YOUR SINS."

The subject of war is a touchy one by the look of postings here. At no time is war a good thing but war is upon you whether you would risk it or not. We are in a spiritual battle here trying to bring souls to Christ. In praying against an evil spirit is that not a type of warfare?? In the old testament it's well documented that God saw the victory in war and he himself told the plans to those who would be his hands. Anytime his people went to war without him they lost, and when he directed them they won. Now a days one would argue that war is not needed. If you have a leader like hitler how do you suppose you would reach him? How many people must die before you'd take a stand and fight back? Do such leaders exist today? Sure they do!! When do you decide it's time to fight back? Sometimes this warfare requires the loss of life, to save the lives of those being persecuted unfairly.

I'm all for finding a peacful solution but I know there are people out there you just can't reason with.

God Bless

Jesus never commented about war except to say they would happen....I don't know what you are referring to?

Basically, my qestion is: do any of you agree with the wars America or any other country for that matter have started , or partaken in( In the name of God)?

has America ever done anything "in the name of God"????

When?

Jesus taught that if someone hits you on the right cheek( cant remember exactly which cheek comes first...sorry...but you all know the scripture) we are to turn to them the other also( not hit them back), he also taught us that we should LOVE our ENEMIES and PRAY for those who persecute us (not go to war with them).

That is a bad interpretation and a worse application.

Yeshua was teaching about individual responsibility...not government

So again, tell me, where does this idea of going to war in the name of God come from?

From you evidently

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
