 A Russian aircraft carrying 224 people, including 17 children, crashed Saturday in a remote mountainous region in the Sinai Peninsula about 20 minutes after taking off from a Red Sea resort popular with Russian tourists, the Egyptian government said.

There were no survivors, the Russian Embassy in Cairo said on its Twitter account.

Adel Mahgoub, chairman of the state company that runs Egypt's civilian airports, said that, except for three Ukrainian passengers, everyone on board was Russian. An Egyptian Cabinet statement said the passengers included 138 women, 62 men and 17 children. It said the aircraft, an Airbus 321, was 18 years old. There were seven crew members.

Most of the bodies recovered so far from the crash site were burned, said Egyptian military and security officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.

It is really strange how the media is portraying this crash.They are talking in circles.They say one thing and then correct it with something else.

Well, the Egyptians don't want to admit it was terrorism because they have a commercial interest in this.  This happened to people who were vacationing at their most ritzy resort along the Red Sea.   If people think that this is an area that is vulnerable to a terrorist attack, they stand to lose a lot of tourism money and the middle east thrives on the tourism industry.

The liberal media does not want this to be a terrorist attack because that gives a black eye yet again to Islam because the media treats Islam and Muslims like they are a protected species.   They will say anything, and call this anything but an act of terrorism, because they don't want to face facts.
