Sometimes things are planned and announced, sometime circumstances arise that either cause the site to go offline, or necessitate that issues be addressed. It cannot be helped. This is not like Google or other sites that have multiple mirror installations and servers, and a staff of thousands and a budget of millions to help them stay functional.
