It is not a sin to smoke marijuana...

Yes, it is. Read: http://www.worthyboards.com/forums/index.p...st&p=304934

It is more of a crime to have laws that enslave a person through prohibition.

Therefore, we should not have any laws at all! Is that what you believe? All law is enslavement. Therefore, you should not be prohibited from killing someone because you hate them. You should not be prohibited from robbing a bank because you need the money. You should not be prohibited from driving an automobile while you are intoxicated because, hey, it's you're right to drive drunk if you want to. I've never read anything more ridiculous.

The law against marijuana use is a hate-crime supported by bigotry and racism.

Really? How so? Can you cite even one example of a "racist" act carried out by someone who hates pot smokers? This is another ridiculous statement. Racism, by definition, is a prejudice based upon ethnicity, not upon behavior. There is no such thing as racism in this context.

There has never been one person who died from using too much marijuana.

Not from using too much marijuana, but from using it at all! The affects of marijuana usage impair vision, motor skills, and reason, to the detriment of the user and other people. So even though there probably is little to no danger of overdosing on pot, there is a very real danger to the user and others from its use. There are likely many documented cases of marijuana usage being a factor in accidental deaths every year.

People have an abnormal fear of feeling good within themselves.

Wrong. Where do you even get this from? Using marijuana has nothing whatsoever to do with "Feeling good within yourself." You don't need any kind of drug to "feel good." With a nickname like "byHisblood" I'm surprised that you would even make such a statement. True joy comes from loving Christ, not from some artificial source!

The Bible even tells us to kick back and relax and drink wine to feel good.

It does? Where is THAT verse? In fact the bible says, "Be not drunk with wine, which is in dissoluteness, but be filld in spirit." That verse is found in the book of Ephesians. You should try reading it sometime.

god also grew marijuana for us to use also. It is an herb of the field. It is not evil. What is evil is the law.

That God "grew marijuana for us to use" is a ridiculous argument unto itself. A clear headed reader of God's Word can tell right off where the problem is with that statement. Ask yourself, did "God grow" all plants for human consumption, or did He grow just some plants for human consumption? Because if God grew all plants for human consumption, why aren't you including poisonous plants in your diet? Try going out and chewing on a few beans from the castor oil plant. The castor oil plant is the most deadly plant on the planet. The beans of this plant produce ricin, which will kill you within seconds.

Of course I don't want you to heed my advice. DON'T go out and eat the beans from a castor oil plant. But the point is, if "God grew marijuana for us to use" then he also grew other plants for us to use. That argument fails miserably, and really it's just an excuse to go out and get stoned without worrying about your conscience bothering you. The Bible calls it "searing the conscience." You are trying to reason away the sin of putting a toxin into your body for carnal pleasure.

ByHisblood, I pray that you are not under the delusion that smoking pot for pleasure is not a sin, because this certainly is not so. It is a sin. And there are reasons that we have laws against its use. Just as there are reasons that we have other laws for our protection.

Well, being that this is my first post here, and being that I am pretty much an expert at drug abuse( From experience in my past of course)I'll tell you what I think.........Drugs and alcohol are sinful when they become your "god"...Meaning, when you spend every waking moment thinking about dope, be it weed or coke or smack,..or drinking... keep in mind, Does God see drug abuse different than the sin of people sitting in front of TV's and computers wasting their time away instead of doing something useful? Perhaps helping a brother out? Or maybe using the dope money to feed someone who's hungry?

Judge the dope by the fruit it bears......Sure, you can be high for awhile, but you also ALWAYS come down..I look back in time and see all the wasted time I had by being "Down"..Thats my biggest regret..The wasted time.Hmmm...Maybe thats why they call it "Wasted" huh?..For me, Now I prefer to be clear minded. Also my health and age have slowed me down dramatically.God sure took His time to get me "Right"...Another thing I did learn......Drugs act as a smoke screen.....When you quit doing dope, you will be able to see other sins that you didnt even realize were there..

Smokin' weed or not smokin' weed...Sure its illegal....And, the bible does tell us to obey the laws...So, there ya have it......But remember,......Sure, its about being right or wrong....But whatever you do, just remember to keep Love in your heart for your fellow man...Love covers sin from Gods eyes. I mean, sure He sees it. But, somewhere in the bible, it tells us this regardless of what sin you happen to be dealing with. Through love, your faith will grow, and, eventually you wont see the attractions of worldly desires as so important. For me, I still have a lot of issues with sin...I didnt start behaving until about 10 years ago, even though I was "Born Again" in the late seventies!

your friend,

john

After having a very long debate over the consumption of alcohol and drugs such as marijuana with a friend I was unable to find any Biblical evidence that clearly showed God is against the use of drugs. I strongly believe that it is a sin. My friend argues that nothing in the bible says that drugs are bad. Please help me prove him wrong, for his sake and mine. God bless and thank you!

The Bible tells us to remain sober, not to be drunkards (by what ever means, booze and drugs do the same thing).. it also tells us to live a blameless life.... Deuteronomy 21:20, Luke 21:34, 1 Corinthians 6:10, Deuteronomy 18:13, Job 1:1, 2 Peter 3:14, Hebrews 7:26

1 Corinthians 6

9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Deuteronomy 21

19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

Luke 21

33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.

Deuteronomy 18

12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God.

14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so.

Job 1

1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?

Who may live on your holy hill?

2 He whose walk is blameless

and who does what is righteous,

who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,

who does his neighbor no wrong

and casts no slur on his fellowman,

2 Peter 3

13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

14So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

Hebrews 7

25Therefore he is able to save completely[a] those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
