That was my two cents Greetings, Rik This isn't about persecution, but an attempt at annihilation on the part of ISIS. Jesus was not talking about enemies who are bent upon your destruction. But I don't think/hope ISIS come so far that the world is in their hands. And they can't annihilate the power of God's love. Greetings, Rik The world isn't in their hands, but they are threat to the well being of our nation (US); more than the average American is generally aware. Jesus in Matthew was talking about personal relationships and really was correcting rabbinical teachings about taking personal revenge. Jesus was not talking about self-defense of one's own life or the life of one's family.
