The Great Power Blocs of the World.

 

The nations of the world today are divided up into great power blocs. These have emblems that are quite recognisable to the `man on the street.`  

 

1. The British Commonwealth & the USA. (recognised today with the Lion & the Eagle Emblems)

`Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Fiji, South Africa.` &  separately - `America.`

 

2. The Russian Federation. (the Bear emblem)

`Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, kazakhastan, Yurkmenia, Uzbekistan, Tajikstan, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belorussia, Moldova.`  (South America has Russian connections.)

 

3. The European Union. (Leopard emblem used in past wars)

 `France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Malta, Romania, Ireland, Latvia, Hungry, Slovakia, Poland, Greece, Portugal, Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Lithuania, Cyprus.`

 

4. The Islamic Federation. (forming - `terrifying`)

` Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yeman.`

Iran, Afghanistan, North Africa, Indonesia etc are mostly all Moslem too.

 

The Kings of the East.

` China, Japan, Korea, South East Asia,  etc.

 

 If you look on a world map those great power blocs take in most of the world & I believe that God has told us about them.

 

I see that Daniel 7 gives us a clear & detailed overview of these Great Power Blocs in the end-times. Each came up in order & continues contemporaneously (at the same time) till the last one is judged by God. This shows me that God is giving us a clear picture of what is happening in these end-times.

Then it seems to me that those who have been told & are continually waiting for the EU to rise up & become the RRE, (the revived Roman Empire) do not have a prophetic base for the other great powers that we see in our world today.

So to me, one view (contemporary) is quite clear & seen by all, whereas the other view, (historic) is always waiting for one group to overpower the others.

1. The British Empire

The British Empire was the first great power bloc to arise in modern history, (19 century). It covered about one fifth of the world & a quarter of the population. It was a very powerful empire, imperialistically conquering, dominating & colonising. However in the twentieth century it had a remarkable change to the higher qualities of the spirit of man. In political language it means to co-exist in freedom, peace & equalities with its former dominions. Thus an empire becomes a Commonwealth of Nations.

 Queen Elizabeth described it –

“The Commonwealth bears no resemblance to the empires of the past. It is an entirely new conception built on the highest qualities of the spirit of man: friendship, loyalty & the desire for freedom & peace.”

The emblem of the `Lion` is readily recognised. It is their formal coat of arms & was derived from the arms of England & Scotland. Also the picture of the `mother lion & her cubs` was used on recruiting posters in WW2 saying the `the Empire need men,  - Australia, Canada, India & New Zealand, answer the call.`

The American eagle, who originally came from the mother Lion is a dominant & integral part of this powerful confederacy.

Thus I see –

The Lion with Eagles wings –

The Lion – Royal Sovereignty.

Eagles wings – Imperial Power.

Man`s heart – Spirit of Man, cooperating together.

 

`The first (great beast) was like a Lion, & had eagle`s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; & it was lifted up from the earth & made to stand on two feet like a man, & a man`s heart was given to it.` (Dan. 7: 4)

 

I submit that this first super power to emerge was the Great British Empire, currently the British Commonwealth of Nations, with America as an integral part of it.

2. The Russian Federation.

After WW1 we see the rise of the Great Soviet Union, (1917). It devoured country after country, incorporating them into one monolithic dominion – behind the iron curtain.

It is well documented that the bear is the national symbol of the Soviets. It was not by accident that this was the emblem chosen for the Moscow Olympics. A friendly & loveable little bear. However this is not the reality, but a ferocious `beast devouring much flesh.`

The Soviet Communists have a history of wars, confrontations & invasions. It is estimates that the K.G.B. have executed 40 million people in prisons & concentration camps.

Then a remarkable event happened in 1991. There was a plot to overthrow the government but the Russian President, Boris Yeltsin seized the opportunity, climbed on an immobilised tank turret & challenged the troops & the massing crowd. He assumed command & denounced the coup. It was the psychological moment. It was the turning point. The elite troops changed sides. They became part of the barricade with thousands of ordinary citizens who surrounded the parliament building. The course of history was changed.

Gorbachev the Soviet President became a figure head while the Russian President Yeltsin became the senior partner in a Union of Sovereign states. Russia then stood in a unique & unprecedented place, in line with end-time prophecy.

The prophet Ezekiel predicts that Russia will mount a massive military attack in the Middle East. It is not the Soviet Dictator, but the President of the Russian republic who will assume command. When the great bear starts to move it will have three `ribs` - countries not previously incorporated within the bear. These are – Iran, (Persia), Ethiopia & Libya. (Ez. 38: 5)

 

` And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, & had three ribs in it mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: “Arise, devour much flesh!”` (Dan. 7: 5)

Thus I believe this `beast` a bear, is the Russian Federation.

3. The European Union.

After WW2 many countries of Europe were decimated. They were defeated & powerless. However the Allies gave authority to some countries to come together with a common purpose to help build Europe as one entity. This eventually became known as `the Common Market.`

Six countries of Europe agreed to this commercial unity of purpose. However, at the time of inauguration, three of these countries, Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg combined their representation & voting, into one affiliated entity called the Benelux. Thus the European Common Market commenced with exactly four authorities or `Heads,` - France, Germany, Italy & Benelux.

Dominion was given to them by the Allies & thus they could operate as independent nations. Many steps since then has led to an Economic Union till finally there will be a United States of Europe – Politically & Economically.

 

`After this I looked, & there was another (beast), like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast had four heads, & dominion was given to it.` (Dan. 7: 6)

 

Leopard – emblem used by Charlemange the first Emperor of All Europe.

4 Heads – the first 4 authorities to form the European Common market. Denotes multiplicity of authority.

 

Thus I believe this third `beast` of Daniel is the European Union, which is fast on its way to being the United States of Europe.

4. The Islamic Federation.

This Federation has yet to have its full manifestation, however, we can see it rising quickly today. Islam Fundamentalism stretches far across the globe & is the fastest growing force over the past decade.               

 `There is a subtle shift of power underway in the Middle East. An Islamic shock wave,  centred in Iraq, is spreading like a ripple from country to country. It will change forever the face of Islam & redraw the map of the Middle East. The rallying cry is “Yes to Islamic unity,”`

(Arabic media after the Gulf War.)                                                                                                                                       

The Gulf war was the catalyst for the coming together of a new alignment of nations. This is the forming of a confederation of Islamic nations.

Seven of the 10 `kings`(Emirs) of this Islamic Confederacy that is forming are the leaders of the cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf ,

  Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman with Yeman joining soon.

 

 `...and another shall arise after them:  He shall be different from the first ones, & shall subdue 3 kings.`    (Dan.7: 24 b)

The 3 areas that are not in this Council are Iraq, Syria & Jordan. This is the former Empire of Assyria. In the near future they will come together for economic reasons I believe. This will eventually be the power base for the leader of the Islamic Confederacy.  At the moment the two branches of Islam, Sunni & Shi-ite, have great conflict between them. This polarisation will continue to create tension & turmoil & inhibit this confederacy realising its full potential till this leader emerges & unites them.

 ` God says,  `O My people..... do not be afraid of the Assyrian...`     (Isaiah 10: 24)

 After the Russian war with Israel there will be a power vacuum in the Middle East & I believe this Islamic leader will have the opportunity to `bring peace,` to that region. This will then give him global credibility followed by a quick rise to Global prominence until finally he becomes the World Leader.
