Millions have been baptized as babies, but water baptism does not save anyone. 1. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ and His finished work of redemption. Babies cannot exercise faith. 2. Sinners must be washed in the blood of the Lamb and receive His robe of righteousness in order to be saved. Therefore the water of baptism avails nothing. 3. Babies are unable to understand or respond to the Gospel, and have no idea about repentance. Therefore there is another provision for them. 4.
