God created Adam in His image!

Gen 2:18  Later, the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him a companion that is a suitable match for him."

And surely. . it is not good to be alone!

Gen 2:21  so the LORD God caused a deep sleep to overshadow the man. When the man was asleep, he removed one of the man's ribs and closed up the flesh where it had been.

Gen 2:22  Then the LORD God formed the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman and brought her to the man.

Gen 2:23  So the man exclaimed, "At last! This is bone from my bones and flesh from my flesh. This one will be called 'Woman,' because she was taken from Man."

So God ceated a companion for man.  Someone that is his equal . . .and not his child.

In this present moment in history . . we find that God has many children . . . but no companion.  And we know that true fulfilment cannot be without a family.

“And surely. . it is not good to be alone!”

And God created for Himself children.  This we all know . . .but where is the companion.

Or is God destined to live only with His children. . . .living in this “not good” situation.

“And surely. . it is not good to be alone!”

But we see something else in Scripture nd surely. .

Isa 54:5  For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Rev 19:7  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And we see the growing up of His children.

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

And then?  Are we then destined to be still children?  And God destined to be alone?

No.  Surely not.  Then we are ready for the grown-up relationship! Companionship . . .because we are not children anymore . . .and the relationship can obviously not be that of children anymore!

Son 1:2  Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

Love  Johan

Hi,

Upon thinking and reading and with some small prayer it seems to me the premise may be  flawed to it's own fatality. For God grants the gift to many that is celibacy.

Plus, God the Father is not alone. He states that cherubim are to guard the tree of life so that man does not become as we (us) are.  Generally considered by Christians to be a reference to the triune nature of Holy God.

And, God has the praise of all the saints in Christ Jesus even as they are still about their own sanctification process by God.

It may be argued that  man was created for God by God, that I understand; but God has also had declared that if "these" men remain silenced  even the stones cry out of Him and  His awesome power and Glory.

Man may be a created instrument of God, but God is not a created instrument of man. God is sovereign in all matters. His will is just, righteous, and all powerful. In Him there is no lacking- except that He cannot abide sin, and even that He has "covered" in the precious blood of the Lamb of God our savior Jesus who is the Christ! Our God is the awesome God.

I wish all people were like me, but each has a particular gift from God: one has this gift, and another has that one.

I’m telling those who are single and widows that it’s good for them to stay single like me.  But if they can’t control themselves, they should get married, because it’s better to marry than to burn with passion."-Paul

"Then the Lord God said, 'Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—' ” The written scriptures

..."saying, 'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!'  And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, 'Teacher, rebuke your disciples.'  He answered, 'I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.' ”

Just my thinking on the subject, thanks for posting as it led to a small study, hopeful of benefit to me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
