I might add: Pope John Paul II was also a very significant world leader - as in, he did a lot that affected the world. And it wasn't all bad.

So, of course the world leaders would honor him as they would.

As I recall, Pres. Reagan's funeral was pretty big stuff, too. You know?

Ex. you stated that Catholics "worship" Mary.

Any Catholic who worships Mary is a HERETIC; and Mary would be the first one to tell them so.

We "honor" Mary as the mother of Jesus and the mother of the Church. In doing so, we imitate Christ, who honored His mother according to the commandment: "Honor thy father and thy mother".

So, PLEASE!  if you must bash us, please bash us accurately:

"YOU CATHOLICS, WHERE DO YOU GET OFF HONORING YOUR MOTHER!!!!"

With all due respect to you I want to say that you are saying things that don't correspond the truth regarding Mary...I explain

I am ITALIAN from ROME,I lived 44 years over there but now I live in Australia.

I was baptized RomanCatholic and raised in the RCC..I did First Comunion and Christening and I used to go to Mass every sunday and did Novenas and Sepolcris ad nauseam (meaning a lot)My granny Lucia was a"staunchy" catholic and she even made home altars to the "MADONNA" and made me recite countless Rosary,Ave Maria's PaterNoster Atti di dolori Lithanies to the Saints and "fioretti di Sant'Antonio" and she tortured with such and other catholic anemities to the point that at the age if 14 I turned communist and I joined the Italian Communist party Cell with one burning desire:DESTROY the capitalists and the pedophile priests that oppressed me in my growing years!!!

I am not kidding,I wanted become another Che Guevara and I I would have been ready to join the RED BRIGADES UNLESS JESUS mercifully saved me at the age of 23 before I would blow my brains with a gun,thing that I was considering to do just before HE CAME into my life and revelead me THE FATHER and HIS LOVE and GRACE.

Now,I can assure you the the RCC ADORES MARIA,or better THE MADONNA and in Italy we have a MADONNA for the fishermen and one for the housewifes and one of the mountain and one of the valley and you have NO IDEA of how many crying and bleeding madonnas and crucifixes and saints statues and mummiffied corpses and relics ..you name it...abominable stuff,sickening idolatry and rather macabre too I would add.

By the grace of GOD, I managed to evangelize my granny Lucia and before she died she accepted Jesus as Her Saviour and Lord,because you see,SHE WAS NOT SAVED!!! notwhitstanding she was a good nonna( granny) and a wonderful person,but she was a sinner like everybody else in need of Jesus Christ and the countless candles she lit to saints and Popes( at that time JohnXIII) didn't do any good to her...neither her crazy devotion to Mary and various Angels!!!!

I could mention my Auntie Rosa that was a deep deep worshipper of the madonna and when I preached JESUS to her almost killed me but later through the healing of her daughter because I prayed JESUS for her believed and now Auntie Rosa is a Spirit filled born again child of God,but when she was worshipping Mary SHE WAS LOST!!!

And so was my mother and my father and my sister and lotsa friends that I testified to and JESUS SAVED them ...JESUS and NO ONE ELSE!!!!

JESUS IS THE GOSPEL and ADD NOTHING and NOBODY to HIM!!!

I mean,it is quite evident that the times are dark indeed and satan is roaming the planet destroying and seeking to destroy and he is quite successsful too,and SATAN IS A VERY VERY RELIGIOUS DECEIVER!!! He is sooooooo religious that has implanted cults and sects and religions everywhere,and between Islam and RCC and JWS and LDS and humanism is doing a great job on this tortured planet and SATAN and HIS FOLLOWERS WOULD ANYTHING,I repeat ANYTHING TO KEEP PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE TRUE LIVING GOD,THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Catholics are an easy target, because the don't know the Word. I know one ex-Catholic woman, she says she hugs her Bible everyday, and she is so glad she discovered the truth.

Roberto thanks for sharing with us. What can I say there's nothing like getting the truth from someone who has been there. As a american I know we sometimes think we know it all but we really don't. We also have a lot to learn about other faiths. Over here we tend to think everyone is saved and don't you dare say not. Are someone will get offended. Thats our new golden rule.
