How did God draw you to Him and how long have you had a relationship with Christ?

I'll try to keep mine short. I knew I needed Christ as a child but I did not act on this (I say because I was so terribly shy). As I got older my exuse was that I couldn't be good enough for God. As my life settled down God really began to speak to my heart and remind me of my need of Him. I did not like the thought of my son not knowing about Christ. I knew that just telling him wasn't good enough. I had to live it or forget it. I visited a few churches here and there. Finally, I decided that when an invitation was given I was going to go forward and accept Christ as Savior. I did just that and it changed my life. I wish I hadn't waited so long but God has been good to me. I accepted Christ November 24, 1996. My husband accepted Christ November ?, 1997.

I became a Christian in 1996.

I woke up one morning, and I somehow felt a very strange feeling in my spirit....I can't describe it, really.....it was just an "emptiness" within me, and I knew it was from God.....somehow..........

Anyway, I went to my Mum, and after I told her that I knew this was from God, I asked her to just pray with me.

She did, and I accepted the Lord Jesus into my heart...........

I was born a Christian.

I ran away.

He brought me back.

He saved me.

I ran again.

He brought me back again.

He touched me.

I ran far away again.

He broke me and then saved me.

I now no longer run.

I am saved by Grace.

I think you are mistaken.

When you are born, you are yoked to your parents religion.

Untill such time you are of sound mind and are able to see right from wrong and understand.

In that time you then make a choice of accepting Christ, and being born again.

I in saying, I was born a Christian meant that my parents were practising Christians at the time of my birth.

I was born a Christian.

God Bless.

I don't want to make this a big, rowdy debate......

but I am quite sure that your statement is not correct!

I was born a Christian

If your parents are bakers in a bun store......are you a baker, yourself?

No, dear friend, you would be only the son of a baker, you would not carry that postion until you chose the job! Until then, you would be under your parents. :emot-hug:

Same as with Christianity...........you may have Christian Parents, but you, yourself may not be one. (until you chose to be a Christian!)

Oorah everyone!

I was born into a Catholic amd Greek Orthodox family. I practiced both religions as a child but as I grew older, I shyed away from all of that. I had a good childhood but I grew up fast. I was engaged at 17 and married at 18! I have been happily married for 7 years! I had many downward spirals as I grew but fortunatly for me, the Lord and my husband were there for me. I got into some pretty horrible things but I believe that the Lord picked me up when I started to fall and held me in His arms. I was saved January 11, 05! I have since then been a completly happier more positive person. My relationship with my wonderful husband is stronger than before and I continue to grow as a person thanks to the love of our King!

To be honest, I always thought being a Christian was boring but I was SO WRONG! It is the most rewarding feeling and way of life. I wouldn't change it for all the pizza in the world! I still make mistakes but I am learning and growing stronger. All of you here, my husband, my family and most of all God is helping me do this!

Thank you!

Semper Fidelas!

Hi Yomo,

I am sure you do not want a rowdy debate.

How about just a couple of questions ?

I somehow think trying to relate religion to profession is not really a great Idea.

And in view of that one bakers remark then assuming I am wrong is indeed shall we say wrong ?

I was wondering, does not your parents faith have an impact on your life ?

Does not your School form state your religion ?

A child being sent to study in a Sunday School, is he not known a Christian ?

When my parents in prayer dedicated me to God in Church, what did that make me ?

I do agree that you do indeed make a choice after you are of sound mind and then accept Christ has an adult.

What religion are you then, when you are a child ?

Using one line from my post does not seriously call for a debate at all.

Maybe a line of "did I miss something here" questions will of course ensue ?

Noting how all through my academic life and spiritual life no one has told me I was wrong to think I was born a Christian.

Are you not brought up in the ways of your parents faith ?

Bro David,

Since I was a wee little one, I was Catholic and Orthodox because of my parents. It wasn't until I grew into an adult, I chose my own path to God. I beleive I know what you are saying :emot-hug:

Bro David, I'll answer your questions:

Does not your parents faith have an impact on your life?

The father may have an impact on his son's life....but it is the son's responsibility to accept the job!!!

Does your school form state your religion?

I don't think so.....I've never known them to have a form saying that.

A child sent to study in a sunday school, is he not known a Christian?

A Hindu can study in a Sunday School!

He is not a Christian, though, is he? He follows a different religion.

Anyone can study Christianity....but those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior are truly saved!

When my parents dedicated me to God in Church, what did that make me?

It meant they were giving you up to God to use.......but when you accepted Christ, could this have an effect.

What religion are you then, as a child?

You are of no religion then, unless you yourself chose to follow one.

Bro. David, I am not trying to bring condemnation on you....I'm just stating what I believe.

If a person claims to have been born a Christian, they will not have a testimony of being born-again....and as we know, John 3 v 3 says

"Ye must be born again........"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
