Opportunity does more than knock

The unemployment rate in America has dropped so low and the work force has aged and is retiring leaving whole towns without workers, that now some towns are paying people to move there, paying bonuses of $5000, paying off student loans, and coming up with  land grant concepts giving away parcels of land to build on. All to regain  a worker population in their town borders. So that there is a tax base for town survival.

Seems odd to me that  on the one hand the USA has a shortage of workers a real shortage and on the other hand there is the sight of train loads of people trying to get ito the USA being stopped at it's borders, and there is desire to build a tall wall to keep them out.

All very odd that we cannot instead build great islands of transition instead of barriers to entry. Real islands like Ellis Island to house and check out those that want entry for their ability  to function, have a job, stay off welfare, and not carry disease as they try their best to come here.  

Borders are necessary things for many reasons, sovereignty if nothing else, but in this day of so many easy  high tech ways to control movement and know where people are and what they are doing, I would think it an opportunity for this great land this wide expanse  to gain mightily from population growth that will sustain the  older population already here that  has not reproduced sufficiently to continue existing as natives that can care for it's elderly.

Seems to me it is a time that is unique, one where immigrants can be treated very well, be  paid highly, and be taught needed skill sets. And there is such an abundance of people all around the world in need of a place to go and to prosper.

A whole large country in need of more population to sustain itself, kinda funny in the face of all the plans  by man to limit population growth and reduce carbon footprint.

Seems to me go and be fruitful has been the better advice compared to have only one child embrace same sex unions and abort the unborn. But with the folly of man's grand plans comes opportunity to repent and to welcome a stranger with a cool glass of water and word of the gospel of Jesus.
