When the storm was bad, how was it that Jesus was not rocked?  Did he stand in the water or on the water?  Was He wet when He got into the boat?

Water is wet.  Jesus was in/on the water.  Jesus Got wet.....................although the Bible does not say for sure.

I think most Christians would agree that when the Son of God

came to dwell in human flesh... He was both fully human and fully divine.

Fully human in that he saw, touched, heard, tasted, and felt everything that we do.

Therefore it is reasonable to say that Jesus got wet when he walked on the water.

What is more important about the story of Jesus walking on the water is that he invited Peter...who was entirely human

( and not one bit divine ).... to come and walk with him on the water. Does anyone have any doubts that Peter got wet ?

Not only did Peter get wet but he also heard and felt the waves rushing about him...and he experienced fear. Jesus was right there in the midst of the waves and the wind and the doubt and the fear with Peter. Jesus... was Peter's rescue from the fear and doubt...and the water.

Jesus put on mortal flesh to die for our sins...he experienced the pain of the cross, and the weight of our sins upon his human flesh as he died for us...

If he did this all, it seems to me there should be not question in our minds that he was willing to get a little wet to teach Peter about faith.

The son of God, clothed in mortal flesh,  walked on the water.

I believe he got soaked  !

When we are surrounded by turmoil, we have the peace that Jesus left us in our hearts. We don't have to be tossed and turned like the world. Everything can be chaotic around us, but we have the Rock to stand on. We can be at peace. So, in this light, no I don't think that Jesus got wet at all. I think the boat was tossing to and fro, the winds whipping the waves up to many feet high, maybe even higher that Jesus. But I think that the area in which He was standing was calm. And when Peter looked out from around them and saw how high the waves were all around them, he became afraid and sunk into the water. Jesus of course pulled him back up on top of the water and back into the calm. When they got to the boat it became still at the boat. It's always calm with Jesus.

Was it the red sea? or was it the reed sea?

I have heard evidence that it was the reed sea that they passed through. At the time they passed a volcanic Island in the Mediterranean blew up causing a tidal wave, before a tidal wave the sea will recede for a short time before the wave strikes. This is what seems to have happened when Moses crossed.

Then again It could have been the red sea :D Whatever it was it was a miracle.

If the bible says the red sea parted then the red sea parted

If the bible says Jesus walked on the water then he walked on the water.

As far as the comment about Sunday School I am not sure what you are referring to...

And if we are to consider what the question asked...namely...did Jesus get wet...?...we must consider all that we know from the bible about the event and about the nature of Christ at the time of the event.

FC, I think I must be unnerving you about me - I hope you don't get mad at me, I appreciate your inputs

If in Hebrews it says that Israel walked "as though" they walked on dry land - I would think that meant that they did not walk on dry land.  Instead, I see the anointing that came upon them as opening their eyes to a spiritual pathway that they could transverse.  The anointing was so great that Egypt was able to follow - until Moses was used to remove that anointing, and their eyes were reopened to the natural realm.

What happened to Peter?  He took his eyes off of Jesus and onto the storm, and he immediately fell into the natural.

We are called to walk by faith and not by sight.

Do I have to do all the work for you?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
