I serve in an after school Ministry on Tuesday's. Today I ran into Trevor. Trevor is a sweet toe headed 3 year old. With the face of an angel.

Trevor asked me a question today and it gets to the root of Christianity and past all the man made garbage in our way.

You see Trevor came in early with a family friend. Another youth who is watching him in the neighborhood. No school for Trevor since he's only 3. I was in the kitchen preparing snacks for the kids and he came in.

He asked me where were all the kids? I said,"They will be here soon after the bus unloads." Now Trevor being only 3 asked a pertinent question that struck my heart and every nerve in my body. He said,"Will they Love me?" I said,"do you mean will they play with you?""Of course they will." He said again,"That's what I meant, will they Love me?" As he said it again with a small soft voice that only God can speak in. He said,"Will they Love me?" As my heart began to break and tears came to my eye's. I said, "Yes they'll Love you as a matter of fact I Love you, Jesus"

Trevor then began to tell me in bravado now unlike the sweet soft voice that was speaking prior,"That he had a girlfriend, him and his brother both." He Loved her.

It struck me as I drove home to pick up my own children. That this child is looking for Love. He will garner it one of two ways. Either God will Love him thru you and I. Or the World will offer him the kind of twisted perverted Love it extends. Here stood a child of 3 on the cusp.

Only minutes prior I had quoted Psalm 39 in a prayer group awaiting the arrival of Jesus and those He Loves.

Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

John 13:1 NIV

It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

We express our LOVE for Jesus by loving one another, which sums it ALL up..the Law and the Prophets. [Matthew 22:40]

My favourite line from a song (even though I don't much like the song itself) is by DC Talk..."Luv is a Verb." That little phrase says SO much about love.

Speechless here ....(with tears in my eyes).. Its awesome how The Lord can speak thru even a 3 year old .. i have printed this out and want to share this with my Sunday school class .. Thank You Dave.. And Thank You Trevor.

Yeah it did wet my eyes a little What a simple mind.

I think Dave is right, I too wonder what road the little angel will take on his road in search of Love.

I hope and pray it is one filled with Christ centered teachings and pure un-adulterated Love.
