This study will examine if the Lord's table is the same as the Lord's supper.

In the verses below we see the setting for the table is the sanctuary.

44:15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:

44:16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge. Ezekiel 44:15-16

Showbread in the passage below represents Christ, who was broken for us. The showbread is set upon table.

25:30 And thou shalt set upon the table showbread before me always. Exodus 25:30

The verse below speaks to the coming kingdom, in which Israel will reign with Christ and be a blessing to the nations on earth. The table set in the kingdom will be to commune with Christ and the twelve apostles will judge Israel.

22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Luke 22:30

Paul is admonishing the believers below that they can't be partakers of Christ and his kingdom by partaking of his provision at the table and at the same time have fellowship with the idolatry of devils.

10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. 1 Corinthians 10:21

In the Lord's supper the cup represents his blood which was shed to forgive all sin and provide the new covenant.

Below the cup is the cup of the provision for salvation.

116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Psalms 116:13

The Lord's table is where we have fellowship in and with Christ, it is the celebration of the provision that is made for the new covenant, for Israel and the body of Christ.

The Lord's supper is a memorial of Christ's body and blood sacrifice which put the new covenant in motion. It is not the feast of unleavened bread and the passover sacrifice.

Both openly proclaim the victory Christ gave us over sin and death and both share in breaking bread and the cup of blessing. The Lord's table and supper appear to me, to be one and the same.

Thanks,  but I'll take a pass on  this "study". It is too beautiful a day .

I'll do the Lord's Supper as a memorial as often as I do in the memory of my Lord's sacrifice for me. I will let others do as they see communion.

May God accept each as tribute  made in awesome appreciation of His grace and mercy extended upon those called to their salvation in Christ Jesus. May all find ways to unite in that appreciation. Amen.

Google this to witness the best teaching ever in regard to the Communion Servuce..... “Gene Scott Communion”. It can open the eyes of some who have had guilt peddled to them in a precious Remembrance Of our Lord where no guilt should be allowed.

Actually he is dead. He was a very interesting character for sure. His manner of presentation reached out to many that never would have given a typical cleric a moment's thought. Though eventually he seemed to go as whacky as he had  pretended to be to get attention  to Christ Jesus, I too found benefit in his teaching, especially on Lord's Supper. I appreciate his being put into my life by God. God uses who  He wills be used, and that all works to the good for those that believe on Jesus as Lord God and personal savior. I do kinda miss the old Mean Gene's command Now get on the phone or I am just going to sit until you do, play the music, hurrumph! And he would sit staring at the tv camera for a half hour if need be, all the time the most awful groups would sing away. Once he had his offering for the teaching he would than teach on and on. He was whacky but he had much that was good to teach and he was always straight up front with what he was about. I started watching to see his sales presentations, and in doing so I also leaned a lot from his teaching. God used him in a manner I never suspected at the time.

We'll maybe what he taught might be alright. But he was profane. His words were like a drunken sailer lol. And he was about getting money.

I watched thousands of hours of Gene Scott and I never heard him say anything profane . Every utterance he every made about giving was Biblical. He could get more out of one Bible verse than most preachers could get from an entire Book. The only thing he was ever guilty of was trying to revive the lost message of Paul.... “The just shall live by FAITH”. He taught listeners how to live a life of faith—- not “ do do this and don’t do that” to win God’s approval..He described himself as a “ Jesus Man” and a “ Paulonist”. He despised legalists and was not afraid to call them out .His brilliant , God- Gifted teaching made him many enemies......that is a good sign......If your message is loved by the world, chances are it is not God’s Message that is being preached...Jesus said if they first hated Him, they will hate you too.  He was a man of insight and courage .He was a modern-day reformer like Luther. He once said “ smart people like me”. He was correct. If you watch his Communion video and don’t like him.......well, he said only smart people did.
