Book of Enoch...Questions?

I am a young christian and have been studying the bible alot latley. I am familiar with the apocraphia from studies of other religious beliefs and other varous studies. I did a forum search but it didnt turn up much on this. I am wondering if anyone might have some information on and or studied as to why the Book of Enoch was not considred inspired word and included in the holy bibly. Its quite clear that the written work was around back in the time of Christ and not only around but well known enough and respected enough that in Jude its quoted or refered to. The part about ten thousand angels and enochs prophecy....

Jude 1:14-15

14Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones  15to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

Book of Enoch 1:9

And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones

To execute judgement upon all,

And to destroy all the ungodly:

And to convict all flesh

Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed,

And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

From what I understand, no one is certain if the book we know as the book of Enoch is the same as was mentioned in the bible. Regardless, if there is error in the text, it was not considered inspired by the Holy Spirit. I found one site that claims the book of Enoch is actually a composite of texts written by many people at different times.

As a young Christian, it is important for you to make the distinction regarding the pseudoepigraphical or "lost" books. They do not have the weight or validity of Scripture. There are some people who are so hung up on this lost book, that they get distracted from the true word of God.

Its my opinion that by the belief that the holy bible is the inspired word of god that we should also believe that through his holy spirit he would inspire those who put all the various writtings together he would ensure that the "word" was pure for his children to come in future generations. So for me its not so much a hang up as a point of interest. Ive read the book through once and I didnt find anything outlandishly contradictory to the whole message it seemed like simply a piece of the historical books that were left out simply because it didnt really apply to us. I have personally come to the conclussion that this is why god didnt see fit include it in our bible because its not neccisary for our salvation.

My two cents. Still interested in any hard facts on the matter just for curiosity sake.
