Hey all!

Something has been bothering me for a little while now. It is pretty silly too! We all know who Jessica Simpson is. She was a virgin when she got married and she was a Christian singer growing up, her father a pastor and she claims to be very religious. Okay here is where I am erked:

Have you seen her new video "These boots are made for walking"? Well, I like her music, she has a wonderful voice but, my goodness. All this video was is sex. She skimps around half naked acting all sexy just to sell her music. She is beautiful with out acting that way. I just don't understand her at all and I really don't need to. She is the kind of Christian I don't want to be.

I just needed to get this off of my chest. Thank you!

Hey there. I guess I am bothered by this is because she always reminds everyone how religious she is and then she acts this way. What message is she given women? It is okay to flaunt your stuff as long as you confess to loving and worshipping the Lord? Also, her father is her manager and he is there with her when she does this stuff. No way would I ever act that way in front of my father. I just hope and pray that she remembers that it is her voice that got her where she is and not her body. She is a beautiful woman and she doesn't need to flaunt herself that way to sell her music.

Constant, I watched a bio on Jessica Simpson about a year ago on VH1 and here is what the summary was.

When Jessica was a girl she was having a hard time "making it" in the Christian music scene due to her large chest. She tried "dressing down" to conceal the endowment, but to no avail.

So, she decided to get into the worldly music scene. Success at any cost, I guess.

To see her now clearly shows the fruit of her decision. Based upon the fruit, I would guess that Jessica's walk with the Lord isn't what it used to be.

Yes I saw that too. She just needs some positiveness in her about what she wants to do: Walk with the Lord or walk away from him. I brought this person up because everyone knows who she is and most know her story. She is always bringing up how religious she is and I just want women to know that you don't need to act this way or look this way. People obsess over it. Love God first! He made you the way you are.

Yeah, it's sad when you see her with the likes of Aguillera and Spears (also a profession Christian at one time, I believe).

I agree with you. I used to have alot of respect for her but now, I find myself being very annoyed by her. I hope and pray for her to tone it down a little and to be the Jessica Simpson she was before she thought she had to sell her sex appeal.

I personal train this girl who is about 20 years old. She colored her hair blond, and is way too tan. She loves Jessica Simpson and in our consultation, she wanted me to make her look like Jessica Simpson. I asked her what is wrong with looking like you but better? She said because JS is georgous and has values. Uh, where are her values? I tried to explain to the girl but I stopped. This is what this girl is fixated on. JS's body and her so called values. Now I don't know JS personally but she gives off the wrong impression of herself.

It's very disappointing. She traded integrity, character and honor for a fleeting moment of fame. It's sad and disturbing all at the same time.

Whenever I see her or her father I always wonder...where are their Christian friends who will correct them and challenge them? Where are the people who should've been speaking truth into their lives and holding them accountable?

The sad thing is, too many people would rather flatter them and use them than love them enough to speak the truth. A real friend would care enough to wound them with the truth. (Prov. 27:6)
