oh ok....

so you are talking about specific area of powerful men who commit wrongdoing?

the only thing is metoo movement doesn't just impact those who are rich and powerful, but its impact spread throughout to all sectors of society.

It has not negatively impacted anyone. It has not gone far enough. More men need to lose their jobs for the abuse they have done, including those in the Catholic Church, but they have secured Non-disclosures.

The so called Metoo movement are women refusing to sign non-disclosures, therefore these companies have no choice but to fire these men. You and others claimed these men were being fired over baseless accusations.

I simply suggested that was absolutely not true, because our legal system makes it very difficult for a woman to lie about a powerful man and get away with it. The present Metoo  movement started with Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, serial rapists. Other women then came forward and said they were raped, assaulted and harassed too.

There were many women who were too afraid to come forward, and that’s why there are many victims of the same man. Why were they afraid to come forward if all they had to do was make an accusation? What caused them fear?

I can post text screen shots of he threats made to me by a powerful CHRISTIAN lawyer. They didn’t fire him right away even though there was hard evidence. They spent three months threatening me. When they finally did fire him, the press claimed he was fired “abruptly.” And of course there was outrage in the legal community.

As far as the article you posted(I didn’t read it all) there has always been concern about young men on college campuses being accused or putting themselves in situations where they can ruin their lives.Such as ending up on the sex offenders list because they didn’t know the legal age for consent in a particular state. Or their girlfriend sent them a nude photo of herself and they were charged with the possession of pornography. These concerns have always been out there and has nothing to do with the current Metoo movement.

Prove the bolded part.

I showed an article in which a human resource person said even if a man is innocent its better to fire them than have to deal with the legal aspects of the accusation, that is better to fire an innocent man than have to go through legal hoops of investigation of the claim and then the lawsuit that follows.

Looking a kavaugh alone, the accusations caused harm to his family, innocent women in his family. False claims, and there are some, too many, hurt people and should not be acceptable.

There was a politician who once said all child molesters should immediately be put to death upon accusation, even if innocent men are killed you can get all of the guilty ones. Thats what this sounds like.

First, in my opinion, an “article” is not a good source of information at all. Nor is the opinion of one human resource person who may have been taken out of context. Were there opposing views in the article? That tells you the editor had an agenda.

Second, you asked me to prove the bolder part. You and others have been asserting that men have suffered from baseless accusations during the Metoo movement (a movement that started because someone came forward about Harvey Weinstein raping them!), but have not provided one single example of that happening, just an article based on someone’s opinion.

third, if you actually read what the human resource person is saying, she is suggesting it’s easier to fire someone after an accusation than deal with a costly legal battle. This is where the press gets away with fooling its readers. There is no costly legal battle unless the accusation has merit. AND, are you aware that if a woman accuses a man, sues him, and loses, she has to pay his legal fees? Why would anyone falsely accuse a powerful wealthy man who can prove his innocence and then turn around and sue the woman?

Are you ok with someone being falsely accused and the distress it causes their family?

Of course not. And there should be very serious penalties for the person making a false accusation. The Bible says a false witness will not go unpunished.

Every accusation  should be thoroughly investigated. I think when we read about someone being fired right after an accusation(such as Matt Lauer who was fired within 24 hours) there were other past incidents with other women who may have signed non-disclosures.

That’s okay.? I think we’ve exhausted this topic. If you start another thread about this topic in the future, I’ll give input. I didn’t read all of the article that you posted. I don’t really value what the print media has to say, because of how they operate (and they are not regulated like broadcast media), so I think I just read a bit of the article and then went off on a tangent. Sorry about that.?

My two cents...

The "metoo movement" has taken away the voice of those who are brutally abused. I am so tired of hearing about "survivors" who were groped once at a party but never put in any danger. Is groping wrong? Of course, but it's hardly an act that makes one a "survivor." When alcohol is involved I'm sure women often do their share of groping too. Alcohol does NOT raise IQ points.

I think one of the biggest problems in the US is pornography. It poisons people's sexuality and creates cravings for acts that are far from loving. It perverts everything God intends sexuality to be.
