Just as a parent disciplined us when we were children when we did something we should not have done. We know that God does not listen to sinners but only those who do his will. His wife is jealous of his mistress but now the mistress is jealous of the wife because she isn't as attractive... It's truly loathsome. The man is cast as blameless throughout. The women are objects... EXACTLY!!!!!!! Note also it seems like he doesn't help much with either of his kids. That's why his wives end up haggard looking.
