Anything that could get in the way of my salvation. Movies. I HAVE thrown away my music, a couple times. But now movies are a crutch, as is TV, Youtube... Other than a porn collection, has anyone just trashed everything? Edited February 13, 2020 by Uri Clarity

The only thing that could “ get in the way” of Salvation is to be an Unbeliever. All Unbelievers go to Hell. All Believers go to Heaven-Regardless of their Music, Regardless Of “porn collections.” Chastisement for hanging on to sinful things could be in the offing for a Child Of God.God will not fully bless those who want to hang on to sinful things......let the Holy Spirit hang around long enough and He might change some of those old desires......that has been my experience......I never “ threw away” all the booze that got me drunk every night— I just don’t “want” it anymore. God’s doing- not mine. Once again, it’s that “ inside of the cup” thingy. Porn stashes that have been thrown out have a way of rebuilding .That’s the way things go by using Will-Power to change the “ outside of the cup”. This is in NO way an endorsement of porn, btw.....If one is wise, they will try to avoid it, but make sure you understand it has Nothing to do with Salvation......It’s part of Sanctification, and that takes time......Pray for God to change you from the inside out....It worked for me.... 2

Seems to me that would leave me naked and afraid, subject to freezing to death in the dark. So no, for I am confident in the name of Jesus enough not worry that I need add anything to His saving Grace for my own eternal life to come with Him. Though, I doubt I will be bringing much of anything with me. Maybe a nice beard brush?

Even then, Jesus says "observe the birds of the field, not even Solomon in all his glory..." This thread is not meant to be judgemental toward those that cannot relate, rather, it's meant for folks that have had the same struggle, or similar calling. And if so, what their experience was in that personal struggle, release, or otherwise.

I suggest that individuals can get hung up within their doubts to the point of being panicked into doing some really foolish stuff. As example: I knew a man that went to his grave in some grief over his son telling him that he rejects him for God is His father, because that is what Christians are to do, call no one father. This man's son hurt his own father deeply thinking he need reject him in order to be saved. God never asked us to park our brain somewhere. Of course you don't need throw everything away. Even those mentioned in the Bible that were selling their goods and sharing the gain with one another were doing so at the time because they were delaying returning home to the places where they had "stuff". I became homeless shortly after I accepted Christ - so that has a way of making one a minimalist. I will say that even before that occurred, I didn't have much that I would have felt the need to give away. I'm sure, for some, there needs to be a cleaning that takes place if you possess things that are outright sinful. For me, I just didn't want to do what I'd always done anymore, so I didn't; I didn't want to go certain places anymore so I didn't go. As time went on the list of things I didn't do anymore/go anymore grew to be quite long and still grows today. Progressively being sanctified and all ya know. If something convicts you, trash it. If it's leading away from Christ, get rid of it. If it doesn't edify you, why waste time/space having it. I don't think that means doing a massive clean out of everything unless you just have a ton of stuff that isn't spiritually healthy to have around.

I assumed responses may be geared toward that so made the appropriate request, although I never had one personally. My vice has been television. Whether it's movies or shows or sports or whatever, it's those big tv's on the wall, those giant idiot boxes. They are of course useful, but do the benefits outweigh the loss? For me, probably not.
