Hello all,

It might seem inappropriate for some, and dismissive to others, I think it not so juvenile for the topic at hand, which is the perfect will of God. The reason I posted in this part of the website is because I think it relevant to our Christian Heritage.  I was setting up the grill outside today and my mother who was just on the other side of the door kept making comments about me being shirtless. This is a common theme in America, the spring is just springing up the sun is out the grill is rolling smoke, life is better without a shirt sometimes.

Now I know most of you are mature Christians and that wouldn't affect the way you look at me because your non judgmental and very accepting of those who try.

But I think out loud to myself when I get inside, "Who invented clothes anyway" and I respond to myself " Adam and Eve did" Then I follow up by asking " Is it God's will for man to wear clothes."

To many of people this might seem silly but those who have understanding it would seem fair to ask, God is closer than a brother and we should acknowledge Him in all our ways.

While listening to the book of the prophet Enoch, I heard Enoch express his frustration with the fallen Sons of God and their posterity. One of the things I remember hearing was God did not intend for man to express their faith with ink and paper

In this world, we have God's will, the will of his host, the will of humans, and other creatures all these effect our environment. But God's perfect will is yet to come in all its glory, I say all that to say I guess, Is there anyone out there who thinks about what God's perfect will is, the bible says they will call what is good evil and what is evil good. It also says your sons and daughters ( possibly our modern civilization) will prophesy. Do you think you have any idea what his perfect will is, and can you confirm it?

Grace multiplied to you

thanks for reading.

Im not sure what you want to know but I can tell you one thing for sure & that is that if you want to know the Perfect Will of God then I suggest your read HIS WORD(what we do know is the infallible, inerrant & Inspired Word of God)...Through our Relationship with God in Christ & by the Power of Holy Spirit

Quote

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1–2)

And not by reading extrabiblical writings such as the Book of Enoch

Gods Will for MAN is Salvation......again,read the Scriptures

Quote

God is God and He works all things, including your life, according to his purposes. Nothing can happen without God ordaining it. Psalm 57:2 says, "I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me." This is key in understanding God's purpose for your life

You must seek God & discern HIs Still Small Voice to know His Plan for YOU

As far as wearing clothes, you read what God Says about clothing in the Bible as well.........

Oh btw,you are right as far as me personally,I would not care if you wore a shirt while b-b q' ing but for  out of respect for Mom,wear a shirt:yadda::heart:

Lol I put the shirt on.. Rest assured.  I'm asking because for all we know our idea of what it means to seek his will is actually as much a secret as his will. Even though Jesus laid it out plainly. Did you know the book of Enoch was actually apart of the bible before english translation? Did you know God's voice in the bible was not always small. That was actually in one scripture. He spoke from the sky, people, animals, a bush, Samuel thought it was someone near him. If your perception of water was it nasty you don't drink it, then you could be right about it bitter taste. But you were wrong about not drinking it.

I'm glad you have a sense of humor and glad you pleased your Mother:41:

No doubt that there will be times that seeking Gods Will(for us personally) will remain a Mystery to us and in those times especially,"discernment" is extremely important because we may not be privvy to the PLAN & only our obedience matters. Many times I have wondered "why" yet because I seek Gods Direction & Guidance through my Relationship with God in Christ I don't "worry"bout the why's.....His Grace IS Sufficient-nevertheless always seeking Confirmation in the Written Word

Gods Voice, great Topic!Brother in the times you refer to men were not Indwelled with Holy Spirit, there were some who were Anointed BY Gods Spirit but that was before Jesus made it possible for us to approach His Throne of Grace without a High Priest.....Jesus had to die and return to Heaven before He Could send His Spirit ,Jesus Abides in those who are Born Again....In those times before Jesus  Arrived in the flesh they wouldn't even write out His Holy Name, too Scared!!! They wrote only YHWY,too Holy to even SPEAK out Yahweh..the High Priest in the synogogue would say Adonai(my LORD).....Jesus must have shocked everyone when He said "Our Father" at the sermon on the mount.......

But God Can Speak to whomever, however He Please-He IS Sovereign God Almighty! What is soooo wonderful is that because of our Lord & Savior we needn't look to anyone else to relate to our Father in Heaven or to hear His Voice(may not be audible,or it may) In Christ Jesus we can have our own  Intimate,Personal Relationship that no one else has, like any child would even though they have other siblings-PRAISE JESUS!

Now about that book of Enoch.I never recommend anyone read outside Books such as these yet I don't discourage research of any kind. For the babe in Christ I say "No,not yet"....For the Mature firmly rooted & grounded Christian,go ahead .Iive read them myself(the3 plus the Book of Giants).....The Books of Enoch simply have far too many contradictions of the Written Word of God fo me to give it any more credence than any book of fiction. It probably  hold some truths because of the time it was written but all we do know is there was an Enoch,he lived 365 yrs & it is said he was taken by God without seeing death...we certainly do NOT know if he had anything to do with the books widely known as the books of Enoch as they were rejected & never canonized

So my friend,I have tasted that water(Book of Enoch) if I recall it may have even had a nice taste but in conclusion,it was indigestable......    :decision::thumbs_down:                                                                  With love-in Christ,Kwik

Hi Brother J. Your topic is a really good one. I believe I am aligned with what the Bible teaches when I say that God's Will is always perfect.  There is a fuzzy doctrine you sometimes hear that God has two types of Will, His Perfect Will and His Permissive Will. I think it is sometimes taught using the Kingship of Saul, who was anointed by the prophet Samuel but was later replaced by David.

The Israelites were not happy to continue being governed by Judges and demanded a king:

1Sa 8:19-22  Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; (20)  That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. (21)  And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD. (22)  And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go you every man unto his city.

God was not happy with their demand but allowed them to have a king:

1Sa 8:4-9  Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, (5)  And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. (6)  But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. (7)  And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. (8)  According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. (9)  Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

God chose Saul to be the first king of Israel but that didn't guarantee Saul would always do what is right:

1Sa 10:17-24  And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpeh; (18)  And said unto the children of Israel, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you: (19)  And you have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and you have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands. (20)  And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken. (21)  When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found. (22)  Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he has hid himself among the stuff. (23)  And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward. (24)  And Samuel said to all the people, See you him whom the LORD has chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.

Many times I have been sure it was in God's Will for me to do certain things and that He would bless me with success in them, only to learn that God sometimes allows me to fail so that I can be trained by the trials and tribulations that cause vexation and disappointment. We learn by our mistakes and that is God's Will.

I don't really like the distinction between God's so-called "permissive will" and His "perfect will". God's Will is always perfect, even when He allows us to make mistakes.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
