Matthew 25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Representation for pictures used in parable

Lamp = Word of God (Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.)

Oil = Holy Spirit (Oil in the Bible usually represent the Holy Spirit)

Virgins = Church or Bride of Christ

Bridegroom = Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:7-10 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.)

The bridegroom coming for his bride is a picture of Jesus coming for his church (the rapture of the church) followed by the marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9)

Facts

Who is this parable spoken to? It is spoken by Jesus to the Jews.

All 10 virgins have the lamp (Word of God or bible). However, there are foolish 5 virgins who did NOT bring any oil (Holy Spirit). (Matthew 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took NO oil with them.)

The foolish virgins brought the lamp, trimmed their lamp and lighted their lamp. But their fire gone out (Matthew 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out) because there is no oil in the lamp to sustain the fire. That is why they wanted to borrow oil from the wise virgins.

Who are the people that have the Word of God but do not have the Holy Spirit? Answer: Jews or Israel. The entire bible during Jesus’ time is written through the Jews.

When Jesus is telling them of this parable, he is hinting that a new baptism is coming which is the baptism with the Holy Spirit. However, the Jews rejected Jesus and killed him. (Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.)

This parable speaks of salvation and condemnation. Those who have the lamp and oil went into the marriage supper of the lamp. While those who have the lamp WITHOUT oil were shut outside and the bridegroom said “I do not know you.” (Matthew 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.)

Basically, Jesus is saying that true salvation is coming and only those who have the Holy Spirit can be saved (Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.)

This parable is spoken to the Jews. However, it can be applied to Gentiles as well. There are Gentiles who go church, follow all the traditions and rituals, "donate" to the church, do a lot of good works and depended on their OWN SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS to buy a ticket into heaven. These are self-professed Christians know the bible (Lamp or Word of God) but were never born again and without the Holy Spirit (Oil). An example of such people is Judas Iscariot who walked with Jesus, saw all his miracles and Judas Iscariot even performed miracles himself. But even after all these, Judas Iscariot did not believe that in Jesus.

I am trying to make my self agreeable to your comments....I am with some of them....

Jesus speaks about the "KINGDOM OF HEAVEN" a subject that is not well understood by many...

This is the question I also make to myself....

Jesus was talking to the Jews before the change of the Covenants.

Jesus was telling them about things to come....

The "bride of Jesus is his Church"...this kind of scenario can only be in the New Covenant...the bride has the spirit and the blood of the Lamb of God...it could be that the five virgins are those who have believed Jesus Christ and they are in the New Testament...while the other five even thought like the others were Jewish and were waiting for the coming of the Messiah they did not accept that Jesus was the Christ...and they did not believe in him....they were good and Holy according to the Law not according to the blood of Jesus...

Jesus said to them that he does not know them because they did not come to him through his blood....or could be that they were also in his blood but they wanted the special blessings as their right not as in the love of God and under his grace...that comes with the un-merited favor...in his great love....for his church....

One thing that we should take Notice is that those things did not happened to the ten virgins after they die, but when they were sojourning at their place of abode...

And they were still alive and continued all of them to be alive and no one has died in this parable...

This parable is not about who enters Heaven and who is left out...

This parable is not to Judge anyone for Heaven or Hell....

I do not how you have found the boldness to Judge the beloved of our Lord Jesus Christ those who attend Church...

The redeemed of the blood of Jesus Christ...

This parable has a very simple meaning...it is for things to come after the Cross...

And it tells that not all those who believed that Jesus Christ has died for the forgiveness of our sins....and have a Heavenly place waiting for them...during their sojourning here on earth will meet the qualifications attributed to the "bride of Jesus Christ"...

The bride of Jesus Christ is dress in a white linen robe...and the keep it clean...bright and white...this adverts to Holiness and the Priesthood....as in the Priests in the Holy Place...

This is why Jesus calls his bride Royal Priesthood...kingdom of Holy people...(basileon Ierateuma",,

Jesus is looking for those to come to them and have supper with them and give them the blessing of his fellowship to abode in their heart....He is choosing the time when that happens...we have to diligently seek him and keep our white robes clean from stains....to live the repented life...

Please do not judge my mother and my grandparents who express their faith in Jesus Christ the way you do not approve... and you see them as lost, but not Jesus Christ their Savior..who believed in Jesus Christ all their lives and gave the faith of Jesus Christ to their offsprings....and lived a clean life.

God bless

The other five virgins....may not have the white robes...but the had the robes dipped in the blood of Jesus Christ...this is was not the judgement day of those who die...as every knee shall bow down to Jesus and be judge accordingly...

They were still alive...and were in somekind of disobedience...or something else that did not quilified them, they were not diligently seeking Jesus...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
