I am only sure of one thing. Damascus has to be destroyed! That is one of the few remaining major prophecies that has not yet happened in order for the Lord to come again. I would enjoy any info about the destruction of Damascus or the war that must come.

In reading the worthy news today, I see where Syria and Lebanon, as well as Somalia are focal points for terrorist activity, and that strikes are being discussed in each of them. Also US jets have entered Syrian air space. It definitely looks like things are coming together for a fulfillment to prophecy concerning Damascus.

But I can envision a 3rd scenarion as well. One that could possibly involve the U.S. , being responsible for the destruction of Damascus. Syria recently stated they had chemical and biological weapons.

With the intensity building, I could possible see Syria using weapons of mass destruction against U.S. forces in the region, if they were attacked in the process of a military action against terrorist on their soil. That in itself would bring a severe retaliatory strike.

In addition, Soon after our president was elected to office, I remember reading an article where the U.S. defined scenario's in which the use of nuclear forces as a response would be used. One of those scenario's entailed a military force attempting to invade Israel. Another was stated as being , that if weapons of mass destruction were to be used against the U.S. .

Im sure there are many ways that this can all fall into place. But it sure makes for alot of suspense as it unfolds.

I disagree with that statement. His return is imminent at any time....and I'm not of the pre-trib variety.

I don't think we should ever become too dogmatic about "when" scenarios play out but it does look like this one is likely to be sooner (go LSU!) rather than later.

But what if Iran decides to change it's stripes? What if they remove Hezbollah to gain peace with America? I don't think Basshar is as stupid as this writer does. That is the benefit of a very small doubt.

The water sitution could do it faster than anything....but Syria will not be a terrorist state for long. Bush does have a plan for ending ALL terrorist states.

I can see a dozen or more scenarios where it could be very soon. This article was one. Or was it two?

I believe God has a plan to deal with Israel's enemies, Damascus will be destroyed along with the Palestinians, when it happens or the sequence of events that lead up to this point I'm not quite sure!?

If only Israel trusted in the Lord, they would know that no military force will ever drive them from the Promised land again! :P

All these things will come to pass...has the word of God ever been wrong?

Didn't read the article but from what I understand the AC will conquer Israel and Israel is nearly annihalated in the battle of Armageddon before the return of the Lord. Millions in Israel will be slaughtered, and there aren't many millions there. As far as I can tell the Jews of Israel are nearly wiped out except for a very small remnant who manage to be redeemed and become a part of the Millenial kingdom of the saved who will be ruling with Jesus Christ and all of the rest of the saved, a multicultural non racial kingdom, God's true Israel, the chosen through faith in Jesus Christ.

Hey Smash,

Though I know how you came to that conclusion...and I understand how most christians are taught that this is "the" scenario, after many years of believing the exact same thing I have come to the conclusion that the Bible doesn't actually say that. In other words, this is inferred by the interpreter....and it is usually interpreted in light of the interpreter's time and culture.

For instance....the Sudanese, Chinese, Burmese, Vietnamese and other persecuted nations might see our time as the Great Tribulation. We don't see that here in America.

This interpretation is a deductive conclusion that may be right...but it takes a few "problies" for it to work. I hate "problies" when making absolute interpretations of eschatology.

But that scenario depends on many other christian traditions to be 100% accurate. I have found that scenarios change faster than christian teachings on them.

So I have almost given no importance to eschatology at all these days. It used to be the mainstay of my study but no longer. Now I try to learn only how to be a good witness and steward. That is hard enough without adding eschatology to my plate!

The worst thing about that scenario is that it supposes there is no reason to bring the gospel to the jews because they won't be getting saved until we are gone anyway, right? I think that is a huge mistake because I see the greatest revival of all time (for all people) depending on their acceptance based on Romans 11:15.

This isn't a new idea...Spurgeon, Luther, Calvin, Charles Hodge, Johnathan Edwards, John Murray and dozens more great theologians of the past have all preached the same thing.

Whether it happens before or after a rapture is not my decision, of course, but how will they know if a preacher is not sent? Why couldn't this happen now?

Know Islam - Know Terrorism, No Islam - No Terrorism

Recent tales of SYRIAN WMD (actually smuggled over from Iraq) hiding out the Biqa' valley and in an underground SCUD missile factory really fires up the imagination. Bashir Assad doesn't seem like he wants to hide out in a spider hole so Hizb'allah (under the leadership of that murderous creep Nasrallah) may pull more strings than originally thought. The MOSSAD has always managed more inside jobs than any other intell service - imagine an 'accidental' discharge of sarin gas at the Syrian Air Force Inteligence HQ in downtown Damascus. Or, detonation of a 'portable' nuclear device. That would get some international attention.

It does???? I don't think so, now is the day of salvation. To think that no Jews can get saved until then doesn't make any sense. There is a remnant right now, and there will be a remnant who will get saved at the return of Christ.

Now I try to learn only how to be a good witness and steward.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
