I'm really amazed at how I've changed in the 3 years I've been at Worthy Boards. I knew Christ when I joined but I look back and see so many mistakes and bad choices I made back then.

I figure 3 years from now, I'll look back and think the same thing!

Whenever I act badly (in a way that displeases God) I have one of those moments where I say, "DOH! What was I thinking?!"

I pray God forgive me for all the thoughtless things I've said and thought.

I appreciate your honesty. To tell you the truth, you're one of the kindest ppl around here (in my opinion). I'm trying to learn to always be kind, but I'm young and Italian...two combinations that do not lend themselves to patience  In person, I can still be confrontational, but not as much as I tend to be on the boards. I'm just very straight-forward and I don't tolerate certain things very well. When I disagree, I speak my mind. I'm trying to learn to season that with grace, but I'm not great at always balancing that out. It seems that lately we've had an influx of legalists and ppl who have a chip on their shoulders. If there's one thing that's hard for me to put up with, it's arrogant ppl who come here thinking their here to "enlighten" us all. You know the type well I'm sure. So when we have a wave of new posters like that, I think we tend to see an increase in hostility because those of us who have been around rise up and reject it. So yeah...anyway, I think that most ppl who truly know me and care about me understand my heart...I don't have a problem being kind to those who show kindness to me. I just have to work on showing kindness to those who lack grace and maturity and lash out at me first. That's when I really have to fight the temptation to give them the what for :35:

Thanks, cats, for always being kind and encouraging to me :noidea:

Lol,

My husband has the Italian temper and I have the Greek temper. I think that this thread should stay on and that it should be a must for everyone to read it.

Keith, I've been spending so much time in the Word and Bible study lately, I haven't been online hardly at all...this is the most in at least a week.

The more I taste of the Word, the more I'm "hooked"..(LOL!) I just can't seem to get enough.

I believe that when the Word of Truth gets deep inside the "soil" of our hearts, if the soil is fertile - the Word grows and develops into the fruit that God desires.

I believe that kindness, mercy and humility are some of the fruit of the Living Word once it's taken root in our hearts.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Again, I agree. A real relationship with Jesus really is addicting. As far as time on the boards and time in the Word go, I think it runs in seasons for me. I'm in the Word daily, but time on the boards helps me to ruminate on what I've been reading. How can I describe it... it's like being on the boards shows me some of the practical applications of the Word and gives me the opportunity to put it into practice and let it take root (as you appropriately worded it). Other times I am away from the board and into the Word to soak in it.

I honestly don't know how the world gets through a single day without the Hope we have; thinking that they are doing just fine in a world that is self-destructing moment by moment! Every earthly thing is laughable to me compared to the joy and the thrill of knowing Jesus and reading His words!

Have you ever walked into a room and could just "feel" the love in it? That's what happened as I read this thread :noidea:

Amen, Keith.

I'd just like to "bump" this verse from the Word of our God:

Gal 5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

If we truly long to be holy, we must never be smug in our salvation but pray...

Pray for those in spiritual authority; pray for those who are silent and obscure; pray for the saints; pray for the lost and living in sin....and forgive ANYONE and EVERYONE of any perceived offense.

May the Lord bless anyone who reads this and takes it to heart.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
